I thought and thought about this, and I have come to the conclusion…….

Everybody has made valid points on why they are their favorite.

Frogs… working in heavy cover, and other topwaters, blow ups and big plus.

Pitching creature bait and other plastics.

Crank baits and jerk baits…. Getting dialed in, making real long cast reeling back in, waiting to set the hook.

Spinner baits, under spins, Texas rigs, and  everything we’ve all tied on our line.

I love them all.

I know it’s shameful…..

Choppo or a Popper

Any topwater except a plopper or imitations.

If I had to pick just one bait that I plain enjoy using, it’s a skirted casting jig. A few simple color combos, a variety of trailers, and you can catch bass all year unless conditions prevent it. I just really love slinging one out there, letting it sink and pull-pull-pause…pull-pull-pause..thump!

Pushing 100 lipless cranks in the boxes currently. Can't get enough of them.

I genuinely expected to see you post about spinnerbaits. 😲

@A-Jay, I feel like I recall you mentioning this elsewhere so apologies if this is treading old ground for you, but why do you suppose the shrimp does so well versus the more typical perch pattern?

1. Straight up fun is a Jitterbug. It’s all about memories with it now.

2. Rattle traps.

I have several that I throw just for the fun of it.....

Bassday Mononofu - catches anything

OSP HP Bug - just fun

OSP Fuzzy Dice - can't figure out why they eat it

3/4 and 1oz jigs - it's a blast to pull a big one out of some slop

Jerkbaits -  the strikes are usually vicious but  I do throw them all the time

Any topwater but I really like the Baby Pop-X

OSP Blitz Max EX DR -  this thing goes to about 30' but I rarely fish that deep

BFS Jigs - I like the challenge

STORM CHUG BUG

Let it sit for at least 30 seconds once it lands on the water ... maybe a little longer ... then my cadence ... chug bug, let it rest ... most explosive strikes I've ever seen and experienced: the small one.

I do not buy into the common basshead belief that a bass sees things like we do.

So what's a typical perch pattern look like ?

I know what it looks like to me

and I've caught a ton of bass on them.

No clue how it looks to a bass.

However recently and for whatever reason, in the right light conditions,

the local big brown bass population has hit that shrimp bait with next-level bad intentions.

Either way, I totally fish both baits.

Wish they made a silent shrimp - oh wait . . .

They do !

@Aaron_H I am obsessed with spinnerbaits, but there is nothing quite like a frog blowup. I also enjoy cranking almost as much as chucking a spinnerbait these days.

I love throwing a 3/8 oz. spinner bait with a nice trailer. My favorite way to fish.

Close #2 is a buzz-bait, followed by a 7" blue-fleck power worm. Just love that tap-tap-tap...

Magdraft Freestyle.  The hit and hookset is the best.

Looks like I may be the only member here choosing a paddletail fluke! Hmmmm... am I wrong? I'll find out later today.

Without a doubt my favorite bait to throw is a spinner bait and the one I have the most confidence when they will hit it but any top water bite is a blast as well. Those buzz bait blow ups are memorable.

Flukes. I enjoy working them, and I enjoy the feeling of a bass hitting them. I enjoy setting the hook.

Second is crankbaits.

This thread was about fun lures to fish not your favorite lures.

My favorite hands down is a hair jig n pig ( real pig). Nothing fun about sitting in wind and rain fishing for days without a strike….but it’s my favorite because of the rush when a strike does occur knowing it is a big bass or possibly a record size bass.

Tom

For the most fun. Gotta be a choppo for me 105 or 75. Prefer the 75 though.

Funnest to toss? Spinnerbait, especially when I'm burning it just under the surface and you see the wake of a bass charging it from the side.

Favorite? I know @gim is going to shake his head at me...but it's Drop-Shot. Every time I feel the 'tap-tap' of a fish checking it out my heart runs a little faster.

weightless fluke hands down all day long.

Favorite to fish is a spinnerbait. Not the most productive lure though.
