What’s your favorite weight finesse jig?
I’ve always felt the same way. I mean I know technically it is different but never changed how I fish it or the bites I get. that’s a beautiful jig. I’ve never had any of the jewel to see one in person just in pictures

What’s your favorite weight finesse jig?
Very nice! I’m trying to decide if I want to try some 1/4 ball heads or stick with my 5/16 ball heads.

Top water fact or myth.
Ahhhh in a few months we will be iced and wintered out ughhhhh. But my elbow can rest and I’ll make lures lol. Or try new to that part of the hobby lol. im a firm believer it doesn’t matter. I like an all black top water. Frog, plopper whatever. But last time I bought a couple poppers locally I got what they had…..it made no difference. They see and hear a commotion. They strike. Just my opinion though.

Fishing Lines
I flip flop back and forth a lot. I love braid and I love mono. I really like mono on top waters, jerk baits, spinnerbaits. I enjoy it for jigs and swim jigs too. Just feel like the hookset isn’t there though. braid for jigs and worms is what I always end up back at. It’s sensitive, and hook sets are rock solid. I don’t fish a leader just straight braid. Never had an issue getting bites but in Florida and now Iowa I’ve never fished pure clean water. I tried fluorocarbon twice this year. It casts great and is sensitive. I just don’t feel the price for seaguar invizx is worth it over a spool of suffix elite mono. I can get 3 spools of that for 1 invizx.

My tackle hoard
lol I’m only this organized because the basement is kinda a family room. My daughter’s friends are over down there with her. They are all young. And if I use the garage. The 100 degree summers and negative 0 winters I hate moving stuff back and forth. And believe me the one drawer that isn’t just soft plastic pack is already a disaster lol

Bream questions in regards to bass.
Very well said

What’s your favorite weight finesse jig?
I’ve always loved a 3/16 or 5/16 sniper. And honestly never realy notice a difference in what I catch. Sure the rate of fall is different. I’ve been messing with some ball head finesse jigs now too. 1/4 and 5/16. Still don’t notice a difference in catches lol. So I’d probably say 5/16 in most the ponds and lakes I fish so what’s yours??

Considering taking August off

Chug Bug Color?
Bleeding tenessee shad……literally only color fleetfarm here sells lol. I don’t stress top water bait colors. They only see the bottom. Chug bugs great when the waters real calm and low wind

Bream questions in regards to bass.
Bass are opportunistic and reaction eaters. They eat whatever they can whenever lol. I’ve never given it much thought. I’ve seen them swipe at baby ducks, frogs, in Florida even lizards or small fruit rats trying to run across lily pads. I’ve never given it much thought I guess lol. They just eat whatever they see and think they can. Even other bass.

Stained water day after raining weather trouble
I haven’t been by there yet but with that much rain like we hit the places fish I guarantee you are up 3-4 feet and solid mud

School me on punching mats/grass.
This is an excellent response to punching. I’ll add from my experience. Try using tungsten weights. You can go heavier and have a much smaller weight. I’ve punched pads and mats with weights from 3/8-1 ounce. Straight shank hooks work best. If it is lighter cover an offset work hook works fine. I definitely like braid. It’s low stretch and very sensitive. Like stated above. It’s a up close and personal game. Fast bites and hard. And you have to wrench them out of the cover and work for it. There’s no finesse about it. Set the hook hard and start cranking. High gear ratio reels move more line per turn. Generally any bottom contact bait or non moving bait I like a high speed reel since all the action is made by me or me working the rod. The reel is just to recover line and the fish in a hurry.

First couple jigs I’ve made
Oh man very nice! I’ll check them out also!! I really wana experiment with rubber. I’ve never even fished a living rubber jig. But I really want to mess with it. It’s a totally different presentation. And thank you.

Figuring out the bite?
What stands out to me is the horizontal vs vertical. That’s why I’ll throw. Jig a lot. It can swim, hop drag. Covers all the parts of the water column. honestly. That’s a lot of lure switching in 2.5 hours. I know people argue against force feeding fish your lure. But I tend to stick to 1-2 and that’s it when I go out. Don’t let analysis by paralysis get ya. Don’t overthink it

First couple jigs I’ve made
That’s kinda my plan. I’m pretty busy as well generally. But this will give me something to do in the snow months I’ve made 3 that I’m actually happy with. Messed one up. Went back and started messing with wire tying instead of the rubber collar
