  1. You guys are awesome. I made this entire thing from my head so lets pretend the closer you get to the main lake the deeper the water is.. the closer the creek arm the shallower with the spawning areas really shallow
  2. I did lol. I got the zone idea from him but I tried to go in to a little more detail and apply it into a full year instead of just the fall transition. Some of it came from KVD's 6-season bass strategy too. Also been reading in-fisherman's book on bass location, series 2. Tried to take parts from each and make my own thing into something I can use and understand. I bought my first bass boat two years ago, but the electronics on it are out-dated. I am going to upgrade this spring so the answer is No I currently do not use much electronics other than to read the water temperature and very vague details about the bottom contour. I absolutely love Bass U and have watched as many seminars on there as I can. I have caught a lot of fish over the last two years, but that's with spending two, sometimes three days a week fishing. I have never been in a situation where I have a time constraint on locating fish like tournament fishing will present.
  3. Thanks dropshot I will do that
  4. For those that can't get pdf I also included it as a photo below.....
  5. My goal this off-season is to become more proficient when it comes to eliminating water when trying to figure out where to locate bass. I've really been studying on how to analyze maps, seasonal patters, and water temperate. I decided to test all of my knowledge in order to draw a sample map of a lake and to break down a good starting point of bass location based on the yearly season and of the water temperature. I broke down the lake into four "zones" if you will based on where I think the bass may be along with a description of what to look for based on the temperature of the lake. For you veterans out there, would you mind to take a second and observe my map and see if I'm headed down the right path for locating fish? I welcome any input you guys feel like giving me. I'm here to learn lol. Sample Lake Breakdown.pdf
  6. Here is a question I have been thinking about lately so I thought I would ask you guys here on the tournament board.. Do you think it is better to have knowledge and understanding of most techniques that exist or do you feel it’s better to narrow it down to a few techniques and get really good at them? Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time studying and trying to learn every technique possible that sometimes I might be better off if I choose a handful and got really good at those.. Seems each successful tournament angler has something that is in their wheelhouse but at the same time I know you have to expect the unexpected and be ready to adapt.. You guys that have been doing this a long time, what do you say? Would you advise an amatuer tournament angler to attempt to learn all he or she can or to pick something and practice, practice, practice? ??‍♂️
  7. New River, Claytor Lake, Lake Moomaw, and Smith Mountain Lake

  9. I really appreciate the help guys!
  10. SPRO and Terminator makes pretty dang good frogs
  11. I forgot to add the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay to the list I can be there in around 4 hrs..
  12. Most of my lakes here in southern WV are under 2,000 acres. I would like to fish a more prominant lake or two this summer such as Kentucky Lake, Dale Hollow, Lake Chikamauga, Lake Murray, or even possibly Lake Okeechobee. I own a 17ft Triton VT Tournament Sport with a 50HP Motor. Is my boat sufficient for any of those lakes? It’s perfect for me and my local/regional lakes but I wanna “fish better water” as Mr. Hackney recommended to us recently in Bassmaster Online lol

When the aggressive topwater bite is on nothing will produce more fish than a walk the dog presentation. The BX waking minnow seems to work best for me when bass are hitting top water but not aggressively. I've found a lot of success on them around grass beds and weeds. They are that perfect in between for me between a walk the dog and a popper. I've also caught more fish on the BX minnow when working it slow. I think it looks more natural like wounded bait fish struggling to swim.
  14. Don’t count out a Rage Tail Structure Bug or Space Monkey rigged with the Rage Rig on a weighted swimbait hook.. it will give a little more action on the vertical fall and can be retrieved also like a swimbait
  15. This is especially true with hollow body frogs. I chuck that thing out there and like for it to make that smacking thud sound when it hits the pads. It grabs the fishie’s attention..
  16. I purchased a pair of these Under Armour boat shoes last year and absolutely love them.....
  17. My go to flipping baits are the Rage Tail Space Monkey and the Rage Bug in both watermelon red flake and black/blue flake
  18. Do blue craws work best in cold water because real crawfish turn blue? Just asking... I've always been told they are black/blue as small craws in early spring cold water. As the water warms into the 40s-60s they turn green and then in warm water 75+ they turn red. I know they turn red when cooked. I've always used this to try to match my soft plastic colors when I am trying to mimic a crawfish. At the same time, I have also been told that crawfish are olive and dark when low light conditions and turn brown and red in bright light conditions or direct sunlight.

Thanks A-Jay! Maybe I should have clarified my question a little better. I am aware that you can get a bass resourse jersey made through the link, but do I need any special permission to add the bass resource logo to my own jersey I am customizing? Hope that helps.

Thank you for all of your hard work and time that goes in to this forum for all of us. I am going to join my first bass club and begin tournament fishing at the local level. Can I use the bass resource logo on a jersey or is there a process needed in order to do that? I am new to the game and just wondering how it works thanks!
  23. I agree man. Wear what makes you feel the most confidence. To each their own. Keep it up buddy.
  24. I have always rubbed them lightly with a brillo pad
  25. The only time I really use reverse is when backing away from a dock or if my livewell pump has become airlocked.
