  7. I joined my first club in December. I'm 21. First tournament was 24 degrees. Water temp in mid 40s. For georgia that'd terrible. I was the only person not to catch a fish. And I threw everything. Jigs. Jerkbaits. Crank baits. Nothing hit. I just knew I would be voted out. January tournament I fished with someone different who is sponsored by several companies which just made me more nervous. Same weather. He didn't get a hook up until 2 hours in and I was still at 0. He asked what I thought would work because he was out of ideas. I told him I wanted to fish shallow which nobody ever does here in winter. I ended up catching a limit between a jig and a top water vixen. I threw the top water as last resort but the spots blew up on it and it stuck. We were the only 2 of 15 to catch. Just stay positive. Don't lose your temper. Be polite. Go to meetings or tell them if you can't ahead of time. Whether you're a novice or a pro doesn't matter to most clubs. The one I joined has people from all walks of life.
  8. academy sells h2o swimbaits for like $3-5 and theyre not half bad. Also check out kanan lures and reflexion swimbaits. Another great swimbait i have several of are the river2sea S-Wavers

  10. we had the duckett micro magics on sale for 39.98. lol. A lot of the time if you jsut scan stuff yourself it'll be way cheaper. when stuff goes down to a penny to 1.00 management isn't allowed to tell us
  11. i work there. needless to say i never make it out of the store with money left. we had duckett micro magic rods go on sale for 39.99 not too long ago. THe hardbaits resemble a lucky craft. NOT as good of quality but when you can buy 4 h2os for the price of 1 LC its worth it to me. the frogs i've never had a problem with but i myself buy koppers frogs and mice over any other brand. i have 2 frog boxes. 1 of koppers and jackal the otehr h2o. no complaints with the h2o at all though./
  12. green is for stained water and basic freshawater fishing. Blue is geared towards saltwater and clear/bluewatwe. Silver mirror is for CLEAR water like streams and very few lakes. Copper is a great choice for sight fishing. thats what the copper was designed for-costa dealer and tournament fisher
  13. h2o express at academy. They're on sale right now for 1.99 and up. They're not top of the line but they work and you don't have to cry when they break off.
