  1. Abu has a great warranty. Had a veracity snap in three places just reeling in a fish. The video of this happening was pretty ridiculous. The rod was never abused, not even a scratch on it. I had a tournament 2 days after it happened. Abu not only replaced my rod but also next day aired a replacement for the tournament until i got my new one it. The replacement sent was a veritas but once i received my new rod they offered me the veritas for $40 so of course i kept it.
  2. Jerkbaits, Topwater walking baits(ONLY reaction innovations vixen) Jigs. Spots bed a lot deeper than largemouths. in the 10+ depth.
  3. Welcome! I'm in middle Ga too!
  4. What point are you setting the hook? Heres my trick to jigs. Cut 3-4 strands in the weedguard way down to make it easier to set the hook. DO NOT PULL THEM OUT or you risk all of them falling out.
  5. Have gone out almost everyday over the past 7 days. Fish have hit everything. Topwater frogs, soft plastics, and hard plastics. Caught fish from about 10" long up to a solid 7 pounder the other day on a fluke. Most of the fish are protecting the fry and those who aren't hit just about anything. I also caught a fish today that i had caught 2 days in a row in early March. I will post pics when i make it home. The way i could tell it was the same is it has a weird injury on its back that shows really well
  6. So i use these on an underspin more than anything and have great luck on them. Anyone else have any other ways they rig other than an A rig. P.s. Found the 3.5" and 5" for 2.48 a pack and theres a ton left where i'm located.
  7. Fishing Lake Jackson in Ga in january we went up in a nasty looking cove full of rocks,logs, and trash. My partner had to answer natures call so we powerpoled down so he could shimmy up logs to the bank. We spent almost an hour picking through lures that had washed up. I have a box now dedicated to recovered lures.;
  8. The 11th is fine with me also. No tournaments that weekend or work.
  9. I use almost solely black and blue jig with a trailer. I use a spike it marker and give it a little scent and color change.
  10. Shakey head. Drop shot if the bottoms not too bad. Finesse jig.craw on a chompers jig head. It was 90 here today and we never have ice so I'm just throwing out what I know works in the cold.
  11. If you can get down to Christmas creek. It's money. I've fly fished for tarpon down there. And if you go in at the right time you will be set for the day.
  12. I've had my best luck on the lArger lakes like Clarks hill, hartwell, and lanier in the summer. But again depends on your style too.
  13. I vote sometime summer. July? Slow month for most jobs. Gives everyone plenty of time to plan and get everything situated.
  14. I know a killer spot in savannah to catch tarpon and reds.
  15. Oh trust me I'm open minded my best friend and I fish tournaments together a lot and we've had some pretty funny stuff happened. I don't mind it at all.

  17. Thanks Flobassin. I was looking on there earlier and didn't see that one.
  18. Yeah. They do. Almost exactly. The tails are different. That's probably the easiest way to tell. Not sure where you're from in Georgia. But if you know where lake tobesofkee is there's a lot of bowfin and snakehead in the creek itself up where it gets clear. I try to avoid it too but there's no telling with Georgia.
  19. Yeah I've actually caught them in savannah. My girlfriend HATES going places with me because I will fish anywhere with legal water. I was going through savannah and saw this awful looking canal by a mall and decided to walk it with a frog since it had a lot of vegetation and possibly bodies. Who knows there. Nonetheless after an Hour or so I had caught several 1-2 pound bass and a snakehead. They're pretty common in georgia. You can catch them all day in creeks around here. I never knew how many there were until we shocked random creeks with the DNR in my wildlife biology classes.
  20. I could see if anyone in my club has an account here. I'd have to find someone to go with from here that has a boat to enjoy the fishing portion.
  21. I have a cul-m-rite scale but it's not something I just tote to ponds and rough around. I looked at the Jennings and the reviews were awesome. I'll check out the brecknells too. Thanks for all of the input.
  22. That would be fun. Have a just for fun tournament after lunch or before and meet up. Clarks hill is a blast to fish.
