If the reel is 2years old it definately needs to b cleaned internally. If u send to someone (dvt) to have this service done i would go ahead & upgrade bearings, that will help your distance a little also.

Like Tom said stay pretty light so the jigs doesnt settle into the crevices & cracks as fast. 0.125 to 0.250 oz sled head is best for me depending on depth. The bullet head finds its way through crevices & cracks much better than a wider football head. My 0.01 cent..

I notice alot of guys trying to deep crank with mono, fluoro will absolutely help u get a little deeper. In my experience if i am getting 15' deep with 12lb mono with a particular lure and then use 10lb flouro with same lure i can get 16' deep . That 1' can make all the difference in the world on a ledge or in a channel. My 0.01cent
