  1. I've used glowing inline spinners before in chart. The pike liked it more than the bass but I did catch a few smallmouth.
  2. If you're looking to spend 160 the e6x isn't a bad rod, neither is the mojo for 130 to 140 from st croix. Depending on your budget I'd go with those two.
  3. I'm honestly not fond of either thanks to the internet. Between better prices, larger selection and not having to have people who generally don't know a stick bait from a rat l trap talk about tackle next to me in the isle I'm happy never going to a fishing store besides a mom and pop tackle shop again.
  4. That definitely sounds like carp behavior and if they're doing it in the shallows it's probably the spawn behavior you're talkint about. A sentiment I agree with that I once read on here, you can walk up and kick a spawning carp easier than you can get it to bite a lure.
  5. 3x for keitech. I imagine that paddle tail would give you great action.
  6. Get the core, it isn't even a close comparison. If I could find another 101mg I'd buy it right now cash.
  7. I've got a rod tip that sits in my tackle box of a very expensive gloomis rod to remind me if it takes more than a pop or a pull to get free, a new bait is between 5 and 13 dollars. A new rod will most likely leave me in tears. With that said, use backing for your braid.
  8. Moving to Georgia the 30th of this month just so I can do more of that ;). My wife thinks its because she wants to be closer to her family.
  9. This my friends is why I fish norman cranks. 20 dollars for the heat to warp it? What happens if you cut it and leave it on the boat deck for 2 or 3 hours?
  10. Tie it to a tree, line condition it and walk it out and reel it in a couple times. It should help reduce the memory coil. We call that a slinky in my neck of the woods.
  11. I'm with Hootie in this regard , couldn't stand the old mojo rods. I enjoy the new ones quite a bit, they were actually a contender for my new cranking rod but they lost out to kistler. With that said I don't like Powell rods much at all. I find them heavy and uncomfortable. And they are not the same blank as suggested above.
  12. If your frogging weight is going to fit relatively well within the specs, bot knowing what size frogs you throw I'd still get the 765 since you seem to be wanting move toward getting another rod for frogging purposes.
  13. http://www.***.com/Buck_Knives_Splizzor/descpage-BUCKSP.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjwwry8BRDjsbjMpPSDvagBEiQA5oW0nDYmsUJd5cTmcZf5ZPXTHvb9WK_r_G_xBoQ3x6JNcooaAqE08P8HAQ And a pair of forceps.
  14. I do not use split ring pliers, I grab whatever tools I have laying around that I can open it a little with. Usually ends up being a tiny flat head. I also replace every single treble hook before I fish the lure with mustad treble hooks.
  15. I wouldn't go above a 35 myself either, I made that mistake years ago.
  16. Between a 7 and 7'4 medium extra fast rod is my preference.
  17. I almost exclusively use split grip cork. I understand that eva is lighter and not that much less comfortable but when I'm using a light weight rig, it makes no sense to me to add weight to the back to balance a 50 size reel that only weighs 5oz and change. Unfortunately I can't fish with full handles at all, it's very uncomfortable to me.
  18. I'm looking at the kistlet klx cranking rod. My last dedicated crank rod is retired, and I'm looking for something with quality sensitivity and loads up well. If you use it or have any other suggestions please let me know. Either that or I'm going to have to be a pain in Mikes ass again.
  19. Shaky heads, texas rigs, rigs.
  20. Dinks on over sized cranks, big girls on inline spinners 1/4 oz. Fish only follow one rule, in that there are no rules.
  21. You can use a stick you found in the woods if you want to. You have to be the one to determine what you like. For every glass crankbaiter like me, theres a graphite cranker out there. I medium-fast rods. But thats just my preference.
  22. I thoroughly enjoy the new mojo rod. Drastic improvement over the last mojo installment. I think it's a great choice. Go hold it a bit and make sure you like the feel.

When it comes to swim baits I suck it up and stick to keitech personally. I've never had anythung that works quite as well as they do.
  24. I'd go for the mojo glass cranking rod for a nice affordable cranking stick.
