Keeping Soft Plastics Fresh.
They should be fine. If you are really worried put some fish attractant on them before you fish with them again.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It's fitting that he came back with a sweet Deps swimbait.

Finesse Jigs
Chomper's has some that I have had pretty good success with, but Seibert just came out with some "Sniper Jigs" that look pretty sweet.

What kind of action does that swimbait have?

Why Are You Deleting My Questions?
Shouldn't this thread be moved to the "Everything Else" forum?

What Would You Do Next?
Quit... Or try a really finnesse jig, soft plastic, or shakey head and just let it soak out there by or just off that drop off.

Strange Marks On Largemouth
Reminds me of redfish. I've never seen that before, that's pretty cool.

Kayak Fishing Rod Selection
That's a good point, I added length to a rod butt a while ago, and while it didn't make it super difficult to cast it did complicate the matter.

Electrical Tape For Backing?
I never use backing, I have never felt the need to. Electrical tape is a good idea, but why do people use backing in the first place? I just grab the line I want to use, spool it on, and call it a day. What are the benefits to using it?

Kayak Fishing Rod Selection
My brother uses a 9' fly rod every time he goes out in a kayak, and he is limited to sittting (balance isn't his strong suit). Rod length doesn't matter 9 times out of 10, if you're in a kayak or not. Unless you have REALLY short arms.

Bass Pro Shops Exploring Bid For Cabela's
I don't really have a dog in this fight. I rarely buy fishing related items from Bass pro. I think they are better for killing time on rainey days, coffee mugs, and Red Head Camo Mocs. TW is the bee's knees.

What's Your Most Versatile Casting Rod?
I have a ML Carrot Stix, it can handle just about everything; jigs, cranks, small swimbaits, spinner baits, frogs, buzz baits, ect. It sounds like you might want something a little heavier than a ML so I suggest a 7' Carrot Stix Wild Wild Orange Casting Rod.

Expensive Reels
You gotta pay the big bucks to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Gloves?
Waders are fine for tromping around creeks and around farm ponds, but if you're in a boat, kayak, ect in deep water they are far from ideal.

Daiwa Fuego 8.1:1?
How do you like 'em? How much of a speed difference is there between an 8.1:1 and 7.1:1? I uprgaded one of my reels to a Lexa (love it), now I "need" to upgrade another reel. And the Fuego is callin' my name.

Could You Beat Kvd 1 Vs 1 If All He Could Use Is A Cheap Spincaster?
This thread is kinda funny...Quantum owns Zebco, so he could beat any of us without a breach of contract.

Can A Ned Rig Be Thrown On A Baitcaster?
It's taken a while, but I'm starting to find that out.

Gloves?
I don't know about gloves, but if I were to do a good amount of cold water fishing I would invest in either Carhart bibs or waders. And Duck Boots, they're as stylish as they are warm. BTW, you haven't been around in a while. I figured you quit fishing and started bowling.

Using Pay Pal For Fishing Purchases

Could You Beat Kvd 1 Vs 1 If All He Could Use Is A Cheap Spincaster?
So, you've never fished there, but you think you could "hold your own" against the (arguably) best fishermen to ever pick up a rod? And you would let him use his whole arsenal of like 30+ rods?
-
Could You Beat Kvd 1 Vs 1 If All He Could Use Is A Cheap Spincaster?
I could beat him...if the spin cast combo he was using had no line.

I'm About To Put Braid On A Reel For The First Time....
No backing. Tape it on to start. The kind of tape doesn't matter...scotch, masking, ect. just not duct tape. I use the improved clinch knot with braid no problems. You just HAVE TO thread it through the line tie twice and use 7 wraps no more no less. As far as brand, I have used Power Pro for years. But just last month I bought a spool of Daiwa J-Braid. That stuff may very well replace PP for ever. It's so much smoother casting/reeling it's crazy, but it is about a half size larger (50lb. is like 55-60lb. Power Pro).
