  1. C+C makes a hell of a nice swim jiig!
  2. Ahh, I had blades break off. Sent pics and got 3 back.
  3. Email pictures to them and they will make it right!
  4. Honestly, I throw 1/4oz baits on any M power casting rod I own. I have Revo reels on them and they do just fine. Again, I'm not trying to cast 300 feet, 100 is more than sufficient.
  5. I'm a big fan of the Amp. In fact, I have my Stradic FJ on it.
  6. They all tighten the same, away from you as if the rod were in your hand, pointed towards the water.
  7. Umm, honestly, I could use 30/8 PP, but with swim jigs and lipless baits, I prefer the smaller diameter for casting. I don't like using the heavier lines. I will on a MH, but prefer my 20/6 big time. I have some casting reels with smaller capacities and I love that I can fit half a pony spool of PP 20/6 on them. I also prefer leaders of 8 or 10 YZH on bc and 6 YZH on spinning.
  8. Well, when I use heavier braid, I don't like the feeling that I could be overloading my M and MH casting rods that I use on the creeks.
  9. I love 20# braid on my casting reels and 15# on my spinning gear. It handles amazing.
  10. I had an old Shimano B-100 Mag do this when fishing. I had to tighten the drag and it worked. Line the reel and try it.
  11. I fish smaller flows quite often. I prefer my 6' M Berkley Amp with Stradic 2500FJ spoiled with 15/4 PP S8S or a 6' M casting rod with my Revo Premier and 10lb YZH.
  12. Swim jigs are my number one confidence bait in still water, bluegill color with a pit boss/devil spear in gp rigged sideways
  13. I'm looking for a 6 foot casting rod, $100 or less to sit a Curado 70 on for creek and river smallie fishing. What do you all recommend?
  14. Jerky and clif bars round out the snacks during s long float. I also tend to imbibe a bit of alcohol.
  15. Thanks fellas. For starters, I'm thinking I need to get my licenses renewed and get to fishing. It'll be a mental break.
  16. Guys, I am touched. I just needed to vent and a place to do it in. I am eternally grateful. Thank you!
  17. It's funny. We met street racing in the Fast and Furious days. It was instantaneous love and we started life together shortly thereafter. It wasn't always easy and wasn't always fun, but any time we were together, there wasn't anything we couldn't get through. We made each other stronger. I know she made me stronger and I will forever love her and hold her and these happy memories in the dearest place in my heart.
  18. Hey all, I've been absent the past couple days and wanted to post on here for advice and just to vent and fill people in. Yesterday, (1/12) my wife, Amy Webb, passed away in her sleep. She was 37 years old, a fantastic mother to 2, Braden (10) and Madison (7). She was a special education teacher who was passionate a out her job and her students. They became a part of our extended family. This comes as a complete shock to us and has been a whirlwind of emotions, responsibilities and needs. I can't fathom why it was her time or what comes next for us, but we are forced to move in with my parents to get situated and figure out the next step. It will offer us a solid footing upon which to build our foundation. Sorry to bring a negative post like this on here, but I needed to get some things out in a neutral and friendly place. Thank you for reading this.
  19. I could venture a guess, but won't.
  20. I often do, it's one skill I've never developed with casting gear. I can make short sidearm casts with casting gear, but with spinning gear, I can go from skipping to pitching to making a long cast down the bank without swapping rods.
  21. Grubs don't respond the same.
  22. I reel mine in slowly so I can just barely tick the bottom now and then. Invariably, I lose one every other fish as they are not very durable.
  23. You could fish a light or weightless wacky rig as well, just don't let it settle to the bottom. One other bait I fish a lot in your situation is a Swing Impact on an 1/8oz screw lock swimbait hook.
  24. Swim jigs are my choice for a lake I fish from shore that the bottom is muddy like this.
