  1. No mention of this in your OP. Definitely want to go heavy/braid. Also would suggest trimming and thinning your weed guard when not fishing around wood.
  2. 3 things I can think of: 1st. Using bass lures for bass. 2nd.fishing the upper and lower end of the temp spectrum. 3rd. When the ponds I fish get weeded in and the water gets low most won't make the effort needed to launch their boats.

  4. Weather affects fishermen more than the fish. Try to remember this.
  5. I think I'd prefer to be stuck in the hand than the foot especially if solo extraction is required.
  6. Nah wasn't so bad just went back to my truck grabbed my linesmans had my nephew who was with me cut it cleaned it up and back out casting 5 minutes later.
  7. One year ago today had a pickeral thrash out of my grip and do this to me.
  8. Ideal:no, functional:yes. Will also depend on where your throwing your frog. In thinner cover where you would 'walk'it the mh would probably be better but in heavier cover where you need to haul a fish back through a heavy rod would be best.
  9. While I couldn't add to what bassun said I just wanted to say that I bought a pair of cocoons a few years ago and did not like them at all small was to small medium was to big and they just felt heavy. So now I just buy these. About 13 bucks at wallyworld but can be found on Amazon at times for 3-6 bucks a pair.
  10. I have the 6-10 bucoo micro "pitchin stick" which is hf I believe as my jig rod. Mostly throw 3/8-1/2oz. And it's pretty perfect for me; my favorite rod I own. I would suppose the 7ft. Rod would be similar and if so it should be fine.
  11. You can put a t-shirt or small towel in the bottom of the box to create drag against the spool so it won't spin so fast.

    1/2oz. Persuader double buzzbait
  13. I think bps still makes a flipping rod with a telescopic butt. Don't think it shortens it a foot and a half though.
  14. Check out the bps extreme rod caddy might work for you
  15. I got my biggest bass of last season on a craw colored chatterbait.
  16. Good point. I guess it's easier to say when its someone else's money
  17. I would replace it. Twisted 6lb. Test can't have much life left. I know I wouldn't trust it.
  18. Lots of good advice on blade color and bait size however I think you should reconsider your thoughts on trailer hooks. they're not only good for short strikers but I also like that 'insurance' hook deep in their mouth when they're whacking it good.
  19. Craw scent on jigs, texas rig/Punch baits frog scent on hollowbody frogs and buzztoads
  20. Depends on time of year so as the season moves on - jerkbait, chatterbait, buzzbait, frog, buzzbait, spinnerbait ,chatterbait
  21. Bioedge wands crawfish and frog
  22. Buzzbait jerkbait chatterbait
  23. Just a thought but if you're stripping gears maybe your rod Isn't up to the task. My frog setup is a 7.1pq with a7-3 hvy tatula and no problems hauling thru cover.
