  1. A shoe string is better braid than power pro. I love opinions! World record tuna caught on Power Pro but it's junk..lol I'm 90% sure Tuf line is the same as power pro, if you wanna save money. In tests, 30Lb power pro breaks at 50 lbs. breaking strength is not the only property of a line.powerpro was a great line for years just like the model t was a great car.they are both outdated and there are far superior products out there.just because you still love the model t doesn't mean today's cars aren't better.
  2. more strands.rounder.smoother.has 1 gore fiber strand which causes it to sink when most braids float.
  3. i would use nothing under 50 on a baitcaster.use the lighter braids on a spinning rod.this makes sure your braid will not digg in on you.nothing wrong with fishing worms on a spinning rod.30 and under can be fished on a spinning rod with no problem.
  4. bass pro has totally screwed up my favorite rods.
  5. pflueger patriarch.built on the same frame as a revo.has dual brakes etc.... casts just as far as the rest if not furthur.the best thing is the titanium depostion finish.it will look good years after the others look bad.this finish is next to impossible to damage.
  6. fireline braid or fused fireline?i don't think fireline braid has been out for 3 years yet.
  7. it's supposed to be awesome and it sinks.i've never used it but want to try it.shouldn't be hard to find a braid better than powerpro.diawa and fireline braids and regular sufix braid are all far superior to powerpro.
  8. this is only if you believe line visibility makes any difference.i used to think it did but after years of trying to see a relationship between visiblity and numbers of fish caught i see no connnection.some years you just catch more fish than others.
  9. a patriarch narrow spool is 8 0unces not 8.4.the wide spool is 8.4.when comparing to most other reels use the narrow spool weight because most other reels do not come in wide spool versions.another 50 for the xt gets u to 6.8 oz. .
  10. why don't you try fireline braid?sufix 832 was rated smoothest braid ever by in fisherman in this months issue.it also sinks because of the gore fibers.the last thing i would do is go backwards to powerpro.
  11. they made a bunch of spinning reels in the late 90's and early 2000's that had a binding when wet issue and swear there was nothing wrong.i had a stradic that did it and i know of plenty of others who had it happen.these were all loyal shimano guys who switched to diawa after shimano gave them no satisfaction.
  12. use it on everything with no leaders.
  13. the supreme is a much better reel than the president.it's far lighter also.almost 2/3 the weight of a president.
  14. american rodsmiths rods are lifetime warranty and you have a no questions asked option just like you get with loomis.it's amazing how much misinformation is spread around the internet. http://americanrodsmiths.com/warranty
  15. and once it stretches it's weakened.it does not recover like mono.
  16. they were talking about fused fireline.i hate fused fireline.i love fireline braid.it also has more body which is why i like it.i also do as they say and use a line the same diameter as the mono i would use.i never get wind knots with fireline braid on my pflueger reels.
  17. land locked means it's stuck in a lake and can't get out to sea like they do in nature.strpers can survive in either kind of water.if you don't like samurai then try this.
  18. should have tried the best and forgot the rest.
