I set lighter with braid. Harder with Florocarbon

I dont use backing ever .Tie direct to Lews knot slot. I hate splices going through guides. Either straight braid or Florocarbon for me.

I use a 7-10 MH moderate fast bps black technique specific deep cranking rod .its awesome. Casts far and keeps fish pinned well.

spooled with 6 lb berkley 100 % Florocarbon and 1/8 casts nice with the Lews SP. Definitely what i was looking for. Cant wait until spring.

In the 90s i started with Shimano and Diawa. Then i bought a few Bps round Pro Qualifier reels. Purchased a few Pinnacle round reels. Used them about 10 years and went to Pflueger round reels.went to their low profiles. I eventually went to Lews and have never looked back. My Lews are every bit as good as my brother in laws Shimano and Diawa Reels. The only Reason to not use anything else is because we get brainwashed by those who insist there is nothing else.

Sierra is a great rod. I have 2. If Halo made a light HFX i would buy that over the others. I have a Halo HFX its great.

I have the deep cranker. Its awesome. Im just not used to bass on something that light. Right now i have a lews pro sp on a jm signature series m extra fast. It will cast 1 /16 spinners. I don't like the extra fast for that app. Im just leary how a light action is going to handle bass. It should cast way easier and more accurately and give some more distance.

Has anybody used either the 6 ft. Or 6-9 version. Admittedly im a Bubba fisherman. Over the years ive added ned rigs and lighter line. Im putting together a bfs settup and need opinions on these 2 rods. Im leaning towards the 6-9 Super finesse version. Its rated a micro smidgeon heavier than the 6 footer. Are these rods really enough to land 5 and 6 pound smallies on 6 lb test florocarbon? Thanks in advance.

Thanks i wasnt aware of this. Is my Lews custom lite equipped with inserts for the screws ? So far ive had them 3 trouble free years.

Bb1 pro is as good as any Shimano or diawa. Comes in 3 different ratios.
