Original powerpro is outdated. It's a noisy 4 strand with a coating that wears off.sufix 832 and Berkeley x9 are good. I personally have graduated to vicious no fade brand which is better than both of those.

Yes larger spools help prevent line issues. Lots of guys use 2000 size but I don't get it. KVD always used larger sizes so that's enough for me.

I'd go with the 40 for ease of line management.

The regular braid and the no fade are 2 different lines.

I set mine on my Lew for just ca hair of side play.

Why don't you just try a knob from a similar reel ? Or Delaware Valley Tackle.

Get a Lews shallow spool custom lite on a soft tip mh rod .

You should try the slp platform. It's smaller.

Ive been using braid since the 90s.i will never use under 50 lb on a bait caster.Also if your going to replace it go with Vicious No Fade Braid in 50 lb.the shallower your spool the less it can dig.i use Lews baitcasters and don't get dig with this line in that lb.test.all the other tips u got help also. Buy a wood dowel 1 inch by 12 and wrap around dowel instead of risking damage to your equipment.

I hate braid noise. I use nothing but braid. I suggest Vicious No Fade Braid 8 strand. Sufix 832 and131 are also quieter than most.

Original PP so outdated. 832 is a good line I've used for years. I've switched to Vicious No Fade Braid and find it to be superior to any other braid I've used since the 1990s.

I use braid all the time. Never pull hooks use softer rods and loosen drag.

If he's in back and ur in front u will catch more if your presentation is better than his u will catch more. Get him Vicious No Fade Braid then his line won't change color.
