never saw a dodge worth $500 either but, at least, i am open to suggestion. then you obviously never drove a viper or the new 6.1 challenger.you obviously never heard of a dodge daytona or plymouth superbird.both cars were banned from nascar because they were to fast.

there isn't a rod made worth 500 bucks or 100 to replace.i can buy my johnny morris rods for 169 and they feel as good to me as any loomis.and i've never broken one either.just because a rod costs 500 doesn't mean your gonna catch more fish.there are plenty of rods out there in the 150 to 200 range every bit as good as a loomis.american rodsmiths has a 55$ no questions asked policy on their rods.you can get their top of the line rod for under $300 on their website.there is no need to stick with or pay the price for loomis.gary isn't even part of the company anymore.it should say shimano on the rods.

fenwick and bass pro rods are also carbon scrimmed.

if your braid is loud your using the wrong braid.

IIRC, that's cause 30# fireline has a thicker diameter than most other 30# braids. that's cause 30 fireline braid is rounder and superior to other braids.i've used 50 lb in other braids and had them dig.it probably wouldn't dig in 20 lb but i haven't tried it yet.

30 lb in fireline braid will not dig at all on a baitcaster.30 lb in any other brand will.

Does the Fireline have a waxy coating on it, and how does the diameter compare to the Samuri..? I'm to lazy to look it up.. ;D no waxy coating.i think the diawa is absolutely thinner in the closest pound tests.they are both good i just prefer the fireline braid.if they didn't make it i would buy the diawa.

pflueger supreme xt and patriarch are by far the best buys bar none in spinning reels.

samurai is soft and digs sometimes.fireline braid never digs.all others are pretenders.

all braids break at a much higher pound test than rated.that's how they can get the line as thin as they do.there lb test rating is actually closere to the truth than the others.

drag power doesn't matter with cranks.i'd get the pq out of all of them.

h3tu-twr american rodsmith's 6-6 jig @worm rod with a pflueger patriarch xt spooled with 30 lb fireline braid.you could fish almost anything on this combo without a problem and it's superlight.

65 lb fireline braid in 14 lb diameter should be just what you need.

i love baitcasting but for smaller lures that are really light spinning is the way to go.

DodgeGuy what will you ever do if they discontinue that line... I think you'll quit fishing! I use Spiderwire 20lb camo braid and a 12lb flouro leader... I have the same set up on my baitcaster too. hope they come out with a better line or switch to samurai.

forget the leader and get some fireline braid.

now you got it.but it is possible to have 8 strands and not have a round line.more strands is generally a smoother line.

if you have holes in the spool it works.if not you got lucky.
