  1. Me either, the gift Jimmy got me on the Xmas exchange was way more than any guy could expect or ask for! Frogtog is a hell of a guy!
  2. You are going to have ice until May 15 :
  3. Get a shimano crucial with an Abu Garcia Revo S, and some 50 lb braid. Make sure you get a heavy action rod with a fast tip. Length is debatable, I like 6'6" rods. Rolo had a pretty good setup listed too, I just prefer low profile reels.
  4. If you turn Cranky Old Dude into Old Cranky Dude( just a change of adjectives for Long Mike) then you reach the acronym OCD ;D
  5. Some deer summer sausage with jalapenos and cheese in it. Works for both. For drinks while fishing I like Gatorade to keep me hydrated.
  6. Here is a guy I know with his daughter, he lives about 40 miles away. I am really starting to hate snow in Iowa.
  7. Muddy, I have a Berkley scale that my little brother got me for my birthday, I think it is 15 or 20 bucks at walmart. I think it is accurate as I have weighed it against my buddy's X-Tools several times and always been within an ounce. For the price it has been good to me! Corey
  8. What happened to the sheep and the donkey?
  9. So which team are you on if you can spell properly and also make it to the bathroom in time, most of the time ;D
  10. Which Horton are you talking about and what question? Timmy Horton, and the question of what he looks for to find those magical spots and what percentage of time does he strike out on those spots.
  11. 2.09 per gallon contracted. I am thinking of putting in a wood stove as the only thing that is propane is the furnace.
  12. Fiskas, swedish pimples, tear drop jigs, and that is because I will probably be ice fishing until April. Otherwise jigs!
  13. That is about as wise as those who asked where to catch fish, and the guy replied...in the water. If I could ask one pro any question it would be Horton, and the same question anyone who follows the sport would ask him.
  14. Is LBH ever going to shut up ;D And what is the main contours you focus on?
  15. Best I have laid my hands on is the Symetre, and it is a fine reel even for a guy who hates spinning tackle.
  16. Russ, You are soooo helpful! I may actually have to go walleye fishing so I can cast a regular rod. :-X
  17. If Guntersville is too far away from Iowa, certainly Fork is out of the question. : My thoughts exactly! Keep the suggestions coming. Some power plant lakes would be a good start as I do not have a big water boat.
  18. Too far away and not soon enough, I had a feeling you would be suggesting that
  19. My little brother gets all of my outdoors equipment other than a few things that go to buddies, he will be set if it ever happens. He is already one of the only 12 year olds I know fishing St. Croix rods and Revos. Spoiled brat ;D
  20. I am sick of winter and snow and considering getting in my truck and heading south. I am not wanting to drive 12 hours anywhere but was curious if there were 'warm' places where I could fish open water and camp in southern Missourri, Oklahoma, those kind of areas. I am in south central Iowa so that kind of limits me but I have cabin fever bad. Ice fishing just is not cutting it and I have some new toys I need to try out. Thanks for any suggestions.
  21. Accuracy has everything to do with hitting your target. I guess to me it is hard to quantify but things such as stopping your bait prior to a weedline, or ensuring that you throw it past the brush pile to bring it through, that is accuracy in my mind.
  22. Not fair, you catch fish in your neighborhood in warm weather and I set in 15 inches of ice to catch panfish : Well done.
  23. Wow, I just spit half a beer all over the wall as I was trying to avoid the keyboard And let's hope he had his prune juice and dose of fiber today :
  24. I respect my elders, most of the time, but as I tell my grandpa, I do not need a little blue pill and gravity has not hit me yet. He just shakes his head and walks away. ;D
