  1. The chronarch e and curado e are the same reel.
  2. That's unacceptable in my opinion.
  3. Braid is all I will use in freezing conditions. Guides freezing is going to happen with all lines.
  4. I agree 100 percent. A larger diameter spool is also more beneficial when using fluorocarbon.
  5. There's more of a difference etween the 1000 and 2500 than spool diameter. The whole reel is smaller.
  6. A smaller jig-n-pig or Erie Darter jr fished SLOW. Bass don't necessarily seek out the deepest water in winter. Look for areas with deeper water but where they can escape current easily at any river level without using much energy. Fish on the days with rising air and water temps if possible. What are the water temps?
  7. I'm not saying you can't land a big fish with it. I just don't see any advantages of using a 1000 size reel.
  8. I've always used yellow pp braid. Straight with no leader.
  9. I still don't understand the reasoning behind using a 1000 size reel. You have less cranking power, less line capacity, a smaller diameter spool which decreases your casting distance and creates more line twist, decreased retrieve rate, and a less powerful drag. If you MUST have a lighter reel then I would look for a ci4+ 2500 or jdm Daiwa luvias.
  10. An 8.3 ounce spinning reel will get heavy? Geez.I have one on a 7' ml avid which is under 4 ounces and it doesn't feel heavy and balances perfectly.
  11. I would look for a stradic fj 2500 on clearance.
  12. That looks factory. Even if the tip top has been replaced it's not a big deal as long as the blank is ok.
  13. I was just looking through some older catalogs and the zillion was 329 right before they quit making the OG model. Maybe it was 270 when it was introduced, it was out for a long time.
  14. You can't be serious. If you don't see why it's a joke to send them 2 brand new 400 dollar reels because they used cheap glue and the thumb grips fell off..well then I don't know what to say. This wasn't an isolated case, it's a well known problem with those reels.
  15. Yeah I had the knob problem. Lews sent me new handles free no questions asked. My buddy had two new shimano metaniums that the little rubber grips on the thumb bars fell off right away. Shimano wanted him to send the reels in for them to evaluate the problem. What a joke! At least lews will admit fault to a problem and resolve it.
  16. OK. Like I said what were the issues?
  17. I'm definitely not a shimano fan, but in this case I would say look for whichever you could find cheapest. The tournament pro or the citica or curado I. The BB1 would be better for heavier baits.
  18. I have tournament pros (not the newest one), bb1 pros, and team pros. I think a lot of the lower end lews reels are made in china but I'm not sure. Hopefully the new tournament pro is still made in korea, but I'm not sure of that either.
  19. The Pfleuger supreme is hands down better than the new symetre for the price. Magnesium body and rotor, much lighter and smoother. The new symetre is all graphite now and even has one of the main gear bearings replaced with a plastic bushing. Plus they still have binding issues.
  20. My favorite spinnerbait rod is my st.croix premier 7' medium power fast action. I'm not a fan of the rest of the premier line, but that rod is awesome for spinnerbaits!
  21. Wasn't the OG Zillion 300 dollars anyway?
  22. I'm sure you will be able to find it for less than 300 once it's out for a while.
  23. If you're going to use it for pike most of the time then get the bb2. If you will just use it occasionally for pike the BB1 or tournament pro should be fine.
