  1. I agree the certate is in a different league than the stradics and sustain. The luvias is another reel to consider. The luvias and certate are both made in Japan also.
  2. Roll eyes huh. Bearing mounted carbon rotor???? You'll have to explain that one. Like I said if you remove the rotor and handle the 2 reels are identical. If the bearing and drag knob are worth the price increase to some that's fine. I do like the handle on the sustain but it's not worth the price difference to me.
  3. Wrong. The extra bearings are in the knob and one under the spool. If you remove the rotor and handle they are IDENTICAL REELS! The sustain is not smoother. You are paying for the ci4 rotor, aluminum drag knob and a handle with bearings in the knob. The drag material is the same the difference is the bearing under the spool, Which is pointless for bass fishing.
  4. The sustain is just an overpriced stradic fj. Not worth it in my opinion. If you remove the handle and rotor from both reels they are identical. I've owned both and actually prefer the stradic over the sustain.
  5. The ci4+ doesn't even compare to the certate, the price difference is well worth it.
  6. I like Mccoys mean green for copolymer.
  7. Certate!! I've haven't fished the new stradic but I have fished the new twin power which is an upgraded version of the new stradic. I would pick the certate over the twin power any day! You won't be disappointed in the certate, awesome reels. You can get the certates in higher gear ratios. If you do decide on the stradic fk check one out in person first. The first thing I noticed was the graphite section in the top of the spool. Not saying it's a problem but it just screams cheap!
  8. I'd like to see what the reviews would be like if this exact same rod was made by a different company.
  9. The friction rings in newer Shimano spinning reels cannot cause binding issues. The friction rings that caused problems were the OLD solid black ones.
  10. Say what? A shallow spool is for using thin line so you don't have to use backing.
  11. That is a great rod! Very versatile. I agree about the micro guides not being very good, I only buy the regular version bucoo now, not the micro version. I'm up to 8 of them and plan on buying more.
  12. They don't make any bucoo medium or medium lt fast action spinning rods. It doesn't make sense!
  13. Yeah I have that rod to and it will LAUNCH a small crankbait! Just wish they would make a 7' fast action to.
  14. Nope the 7' medium light is also moderate. I ordered one because tw has it listed as fast but it was moderate. Falcons site has it listed as moderate, guess I should have looked first. I love the bucoo casting rods, but don't understand why they don't make any medium power fast action spinning rods! I also really don't like how they leave all the threads on the seats of their spinning rods instead of trimming them.
  15. That would probably be my favorite spinning rod to if they actually made a bucoo 7' medium fast rod.
  16. So what are the actual mechanical differences between the two reels that make them feel different?
  17. Can you elaborate on "refined internals"?
  18. I remember looking at some cabelas brand rods a few years ago. They had that style hook keeper but they were on upside down!
  19. I like the ones st.croix uses on the MOJO rods! Why they don't use those on every rod I'll never understand.
  20. I'd go with the Avid-x for sure. Lighter, better build quality, better guides, and great customer service from St.Croix.
  21. I used to like shimano reels, my old curado and chronarch d's are still chugging along. Having said that I wouldn't buy any of the new hyped up downgraded overpriced reels they make now.
  22. Why would anyone use lews?? Uhh maybe because they like smooth durable reels at a decent price with unmatched customer service.
  23. St. croix avid 7' medium power fast action spinning! You can get it in 1 or 2 piece.
