  1. I hate bats! I've had problems with bats getting in my house off and on for years. Too many rabid bats found in this area to not take it seriously.
  2. Hahaha yeah I'm the only person who has had problems with leaky waders. Give me a break. I'd say it's more like you must have the world's best luck. Just look back in this thread, I'm not even the only person who said that all waders leak.
  3. The only bearings I've ever had go bad were in shimano reels.
  4. To answer the original question I would say yes. If your scare 20 geese or ducks along a shoreline and they take off it is definitely going to spook the fish.
  5. If you are already having that many problems with mono then braid is only going to make your problems worse. 20 pound braid is overkill for an ultralight spinning setup. I don't use anything above 15lb braid on my medium power spinning rods.
  6. I hope St.Croix never changes a thing on the avid rod.
  7. I don't really see how you can just lump all loomis rods or st croix rods together. Even within the same brands there are huge differences between rods of the same power rating.
  8. Opinions on waders? They all leak!! ALL of them! Simms, orvis, patagonia, cabelas, Redington, hodgman, caddis, LL bean... yes I've owned all of these over the last 20 years and yes they all leaked after 3 or 4 uses. If you're getting waders get a pair of stocking foot breathable. None of that neoprene crap or you'll die if it's above 70 degrees. Get a good wading belt and always keep it tight. Also order a big tube of aqua seal.
  9. I don't know what in terms of name is supposed to mean. In terms of quality the avid has better guides than the loomis. I don't own a e6x but I have handled one, and I did own a new imx. I would choose the avid over either of them.
  10. It's the symetre fi the model before the fj. If the bail is bent you should just be able to bend it back in place unless it's really bad.
  11. Hmmm... have you heard of the avid?
  12. I wonder how long it will be before someone sues and rod companies have to start saying "assembled in usa using foreign and domestic parts".
  13. Yeah that's why I hate ordering a rod I've never handled. And good luck finding a place that actually carries a wide variety of rods to look at in person.
  14. Are there any shimanos under 180 bucks that aren't?
  15. Go with lews. You can get a tournament pro for that price range if you shop around. Lews customer service is the best to.
  16. I agree with this 100 percent. Every shimano I've owned after the D series curados developed noisy gears after a few uses. I'm not sure about the cheaper daiwas but my older zillions are super smooth, no gear noise. I just bought a quantum energy a few months ago and it is still super smooth.
  17. I'd go with a president or supreme.
  18. Nothing new. Symetres and saharas have had this issue for many years, and shimano still ignores the problem.
  19. I think Hagane is just one of shimanos gimmicky "Concepts". Tackle tour said it was aluminum but I'm wondering if the body and frame/sideplate are both aluminum or the body is graphite like the current sustain fg and stradic fj.
  20. Does anyone know if the new stradic fk has an aluminum body AND frame/sideplate? Or does it have a graphite body and aluminum frame/sideplate like the sustain fg and stradic fj?
  21. Do you index the gears when you take apart and re-assemble reels? If not that may be why you had to take it apart 6 times to get it smooth again.
  22. I have the 6'6" medium spinning rod and it's a great rod for the price! Not at all impressed with the newer triumph rods with the orange blank.
