  1. ^i have a cardiff without drag clicker. Any tips?
  2. Start by NOT throwing the sunfish
  3. Ninja works great
  4. I use a eagle claw 3way swivel and a owner cps spring. The basstrix style tail kicks a lot more water and noise than the teckel imo. It also runs more consistent, my teckel requires a pop to get the tail running, after that it switches from spinning counter clockwise to spinning clockwise mid return killing the action sometimes. My homemade one spins the same direction everytime and does not require a pop to start spinning
  5. I bought an original teckel and i also made my own using a 3-way swivel and a shadilicious tail. The verdict is my homemade lure runs a lot better than the teckel. I think its the tail that made the difference
  6. Most of my combos are $80 rods paired to $100 reels. I have never felt ive needed more and i do really good in local tourneys. Ive had more expensive setups but never felt an advantage do i settled on the $100 mark.
  7. i made one using a pad crasher, eagle claw 3 say swivel, split ring a owner cps keeper. i used a shadilicious tail and work awesome at any speed. probably not the most cost effective but works if you have trouble finding teckel tails
  8. lews wont dissapoint, i have most of the reels in their lineup and i usually have them on deck
  9. shock is decent, the best at that price
  10. i had that one, ripped after 1 use
  11. lews superduty widespool, it is everything you are looking for
  12. i am very patient, i usually throw senkos, keitechs and frogs all day. sometimes ill venture out to whopper ploppers, jigs and the occational spinnerbait but not often. its hard for me to change baits when my senko/frog pattern works so well
  13. i just use a regular magellan back pack from academy, $20. i keep- 1 plano hook and sinker box 1 plano full with topwaters 1 plano full with reaction type lures and jigs and in the smaller compartment i keep all my soft plastics
  14. dont feel too bad, i lost a big one today at lake austin. got a hit on the wp 110 and one of the trebles got on a branch. i had a fish on one hook and a tree on the other. the tree won

  18. a mh f will be optimal but id bump up to 50lb braid. i use a 7ft medium heavy lews tp1 stick. seems perfect to me
