Ive been fishing 3 setups all the time. I fish out of a basshound. 1. 6'6-7 ft medium fast or xf spinning 2. 7ft medium heavy casting 3. 7-7'2 heavy casting. This is how i roll. I use 1 for plastics, flukes; shakeys etc. 2 i use for texas rigs, senkos and frogs and spinnerbaits or swimbaits. And 3 for jigs and heavier frogs

Depends what you are casting to. Open water id do the 2. Close to any shore or cover id do 3

The only one that was worth keeping is the clarus. I returned the sellus qnd compre. The convergence looks promising

Im so scared to try a $100 rod from shimano. My last 3 rods were dissapointing. a clarus, a sellus and a compre.

Why would someone want to have a specific rod for a livetarget sunfish. Just get a uglystik, its never gonna get a bite anyways. Jk

Whatever you do, do not wait 10 or 20 seconds to set the hook like previously stated

Not the glass. The 7'2 medium. Its an amazing rod. Im actually changing most of my rods to zodias. Love the action. Not to fast not to mod

^^^ bingo I have both, i dont see any one better than the other. Both are just average. Although the tatula looks nicer, doesnt mean it fishes nicer. I think diawa really knows how to sell a reel by making it look really nice.

Id take a lews mach 2 combo and spend the rest on my kid

I might buy just the rod but if i find a good deal for the combo im might get that. Just wanted some feedback on the rod. Its hard to judge a rod without getting it wet

Im in the market for a t-rig rod. The mach 2 fits my low budget. I checked them out at cabelas yesterday and feel real nice for the price. But i want some feedback from guys that actually have one of these rods. My corncerns are sensitivity(not real importan for me since i use braid) and backbone. Most rods in that price range lack good backbone. Thanks

I dont try new stuff. Shimano reels when i started, shimano reels now. I had some non shimano reels and liked them but sold em all and got shimanos. Even my rods are now shimano.

Very good rods. They are under rated though, a medium heavy fishes like a heavy etc.
