Use a large grub on a weedless straight shank weighted hook. It catches tons of fish. My nephew is 5 and he catches em all the time on that rig. The hooks i get are cabelas brand and they come in big quantity packs

Tourney trails are great rods. I have 2 and love them. Specially at that price. Id jump on it

My nephew is 5. He uses a 6'6 cabelas tourney trail and a 2500 shimano spyrex. He catches a ton of fish and its a set up that will last him a long time

Always retie leaders after a day of fishing. Ive been using the uni knot and have caught +5lb fish and never have i broken off. I dont think i can go back to straight flouro or mono

Today i was fishing lake austin with a buddy. His attitude really got on my nerves, we would find a spot and after just 5 minutes he would want to find another spot. And he made us go visit his buddy that lives on the river making us lose 1 hour of precious fishing time. Anyways in the end of the day i caught 7(4 keepers) and he caught 0 and lost 2 near the boat. His attitude definetlyis the reason he got skunked

Thats a biased opinion, flouro has just as much stretch and more memory than mono

What he said, you need to get the fish in as fast as you can and always keep pressure on him. You have to have control of him 100% of the time or he will win the fight

Ok so i have a stella 3000xg that needs a rod. I dont want just any rod for it and ive decided on a nrx. Im confused by their lure weight ratings. The medium seems to be rated for heavier lures than the medium heavy? I need it to be anywhere from 6'10 to 7'3. I like fishing with longer rods. It will be an all around rod, i will throw anything from wacky rigs to small frogs and poppers. Thanks in advance, i searched but may not have searched good enough.
