  1. Anyone try the Mattlures Hardgill swimbait? They say the floating action is good... what you guys think.
  2. Try a stand up jig head with a trick worm, and a Berkley Power Bait Chigger Craw. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/PowerBait%C2%AE-Chigger-Craw/1317169,default,pd.html#start=39&sz=64
  3. I love the jumpin minnow! i kill'em on it!
  4. I still say 40-50# braid with 25# fluoro leader But your right with the possibility of throwith 1oz baits nothing bigger.
  5. What are some great jig trailers and what are not? c'mon guys, lets keep this topic going, post some pics too!
  6. Post your SWim fish pics. and what new baits have we not brought to the surface!
  7. WOW... can you even sleep at night? I could'nt even sit still if i had'nt wet a line in that long! LoL my eyes would probably look like this from lack of rest.
  8. Mine actually is not even remotely designed for fishing, its really just for KAYAKING/PADDLING. But i'll probably just put out riggers on it and it will be good enough untill i can get a new one.
  9. Exactly. Others tried to say it earlier to TBO but he said that's what it was going to be! Would i use this set up for swimbait fishing? No! A mater of fact, he'll probably brake the rod one way or another, or just loose his lures. Sorry if i seemed rude earlier, just didn't know how to put it in words as well as you did.
  10. I have the big ones they make.. it's the one that's like 5-6 inches! That seems kind of big for a craw lure but hey, if they catch them for others!
  11. Try mono, it's more absorbent due to the stretch, and will take more pressure off of the knot... just off the top of my head idea/suggestion- havn't heard of that issue before.
  12. Well heck! I'm not going to tell him to use 100# braid on that little bitty set up! He already made it clear that he was going to use that rod and reel for the job so i gave him the best option i knew of for that little of a setup. Now if he was using a more proper set up like a Shimano Cardiff paired with a G.Loomis swimbait rod, ya i woulld spool it with 20 - 30 pound fluoro, or maybe even 60-70 pound braid. But he's got what he's got!
  13. Like i suggested, 50# braid, 25# fluoro leader, his best bet!
  14. When im flipping or pitching baits, ive learned to do it with my left hand that way i don't have to switch hands to cast and reel(i hold the rod with my left hand and flip with it too, don't have to switch at all) just seems kinda of neat to me!
  15. Heck Give it a try! in my my opinion, stick with the bait casting combo and spool with 40-50# braid, and tie about a 5 yard stretch of 25 pound fluro leader, if you don't know how to tie a leader not just look it up. But this is your best bet, Just give plenty of Fluro leader material!
  16. A good cranking set up would work well
  17. But hey, I'd be doing the same thing ~for the fun of it~ actually i think i'm going to get a light setup and try it! It'll be fun, but hard! just better pray i don't get snagged- and don't worry about us joking around, we just having some fun. Best laugh with us!
  18. LOL ~ He must have, some just have no clue
  19. Check out this bait- you won't have a problem with losing baits and the price is right! http://www.huddbaits.com/store/weedless-shad
  20. Check these weedles puppies out~ the Hud Weedless Shad $8.39- even more realistic! http://www.huddbaits.com/store/weedless-shad
  21. Awwww, what you need is a tuna rod with 150# test.
