  1. I ended up ordering the tournament high speed spin in the 3000 size. I found a deal that I couldn't pass up online. It is only an ounce more than the team gold.
  2. Do you have the tournament pro hp that retails for $99 or the tournament high speed spin that costs $80?
  3. I like my Sienna better than my Sonora. I never tried any other Shimano reel though.
  4. I am looking to purchase a lifhtweight spinning reel around $100. I will be pairing it with a Team Lews hm85 ml spinning rod. Does anybody have experience with both of these reels? I heard some complaints with Lews spinning reels but never this particular model. Thanks.
  5. Thank you for this review! I ordered the 7' ml through the sale but I have not reveived it yet. I am excited to get it. I was hoping that it was a sensitive rod.
  6. I am really happy with it so far. It is very versatile and is great on lakes and rivers. I picked it bc it is light enough to easily car top. The Ultimate was easier to car top but didn't do well in rapids or choppy water.
  7. Hey guys! I am a kayak bass fishermen and my current kayak is a Jackson Cruise 12. I like a simple open layout. I have ram tube 2008's behind the seat and thats it so far. My previous kayak was a Native Ultimate 12.
  8. I would recommend the lews lfs speed spool off of ebay for about $85 or the Daiwa Lexa off of TW for $70. For the reel I would go for the deals that have recently been posted for the Lews hm85 for $80 or the Okuma rod for around $80. These choices would put you at $165 max and you would have a combo that is quality and originally a lot more money. It would also be below your budget so you can buy line or some lures or whatever.
  9. I just ordered the 7' ml spinning rod! Thank you for posting this deal! Now I need a new reel haha. What size spinning reel would you guys suggest?
  10. Do you think that the ML would be a good choice to throw finesse jigs 1/8-1/4 oz and small crankbaits such as the rebel teeny craw?
  11. Is it typically better to pay for sensitivity on spinning rods as opposed to casting and cranking rods? I wonder this bc it seems like the cranking rods are often used for reaction baits where you don't necessarily need to feel a bite as much. It seems like I would be better off buying an inexpensive moderate rod and spending more of my money on a rod that I use for deadsticking plastics and fishing hair jigs when the water is in the 40's. Is this logical?
  12. I too like War Eagle the best out of the spinnerbaits that I have tried. I have the most success with double willow in 1/2 oz. i like how they have great action even at low speeds. I have been experimenting with different trailers on my spinnerbaits this year. I never used a trailer in the past. Some days the bass really like a paddle tail on the back.
  13. Thanks for the responses so far guys! I was thinking about a moderate rod. I need to learn how to use hard baits or at least gain more confidence. I get frustrated with weeds lol. I do pretty well with very small crank baits like the rebel craw. Am i better off throwing the ultralight sized crankbaits on a spinning rod?
  14. I like to carry four rods max bc I primarily fish out of a kayak. I would like to have more of a variety. To me, all of my current rods feel like they do the same tasks. Would you guys recommend a moderate action rod? I fish throughout the mid atlantic for bass.
  15. My $99 2015 LFS speed spool has a made in Korea sticker also.
  16. Hi, I have the following rod and reel combinations for bass fishing. This is my second year of bass fishing and need a little bit of help/advice. Can someone let me know what each of these combos would excel at? Are any of these combos repetitive? What would you add or upgrade? Any advice is greatly appreciated! 7'1" *** *** black casting rod mh xf with a 6.8:1 lews lfs speed spool. 6'6" St. Croix triumph casting rod mf with a 7.1:1 daiwa lexa. 7'4" quantum kvd tour spinning rod mf with a daiwa legalis 6.2:1 spinning reel. 7' abu garcia vendetta spinning rod with a 2500 shimano sonora. I think the first thing that I would like to upgrade is the sonora. I have power pro braid on the baitcasters and 8lb mono on the spinning reels.
