I just put braid on all my reels,should have done it years ago but when braid first came out it cooked my reels and shattered my rods so I was gun shy.Guess the rods and reels are now made to handle braid.

I'm entertaining the idea of putting braid on my weight less Texas rigged senko or fluorocarbon

I'm sure it happens

Why do you prefer twist lock?

What size and type of hook would you recommend for a 13" Gambler ribbon tail fishing it on braid Texas rigged weighted ? Thanks!!!

I just used braid today for the first time since it came out and it made a big difference imho, it was more sensitive,casted great but I can see why guys use line conditioner,but the biggest thing I noticed was my hooksets we're right on,the power of the line really penetrated the hook I was noticing with mono the stretch from it I was missing some fish so I think I'm gonna keep using it,but I can see using big game for my spinner bait, buzzbait,rattle trap though I might give fluorcarbon a try on senko setup.Thanks for all the suggestions for using braid made a huge difference today.

I just don't get it,I would never do that to someone, I remember going out on my dad's boat when I was a kid and he would explain to me the unwritten rules of the water,boat ramp ettiqutte get your boat ready before you enter the ramp not on the ramp, ie help someone if they are having boat problems,slow down if someone is fishing don't cause them a wake,even waving to other boaters,how to handle the fish properly and especially don't stop and fish right on top of someone,guess times of have changed unfortunately.

No prob dude it's all good I was just curious if others were experiencing what I did ,I'm not that guy I will defend myself and family if threatened but never over a fishing spot I got too many better ones lol have a good night

And that's exactly what I did ,I didn't do what he did I left found more fish 29 to be exact?

Neither would I too dangerous especially here in South Florida,I would expect that type of behavior at a mall or restaurant in this area that's part of the reason I enjoy going out in the glades getting away from that behavior.

I was just curious what the boating ettiqutte in your area was had no idea this was gonna turn into this..... I wasn't mad it was disappointing to see from a fellow fishermen.

I carry every where I go especially out there with 16 ft Gators,bobcats,wild boar etc

It is public waters you are right and there is no law out there for invasion of space you are right but that's the mentality some people just don't have any common courtesy.

I think it's just the mentality of society today some people just think of themselves and have no respect for others sorry to hear you had to experience that on water.

It's probably a first time buyer owner that just doesn't know any better. Thanks my wife just laughed when I read her previous post and the reason I said that cause I know alot of those guys that fish out there and they don't play that game if u know what I mean becareful out there.

I'm far from a hot head it's just common courtesy that I was taught growing up in this area you don't pull right in front of someone when they are fishing, when there is 75,000 acres of a federal preserve to fish guess some people just don't have any decency anymore....

I just don't get it so much water to fish and you gotta pull right in front of another guy can be dangerous with wrong guy

I live in South Florida been here for 45 years I've noticed lately that the boating etiquette has gotten really bad,I was fishing Loxahatchee federal preserve this past Saturday and this guy literally pulled up in front of me 100 feet away from me so I trolled up to him I was gonna say something to him but decided not to.A few weeks ago i had a guy and his family trolling which isn't very popular in these neck of the woods ? but he trolled right in front of me a few feet away from me,in general living in South Florida has gotten alot worse the way people treat each other the attiude is me me me just remember when you are out there have some decency because not all guys out there are are as forgiving as me and you could end up having a really bad day if you know what i mean. I was wondering how's boating etiquette from where you are from lately?

Probably my fault going so light, I fish alot of grass here in Florida I'll probably end up putting braid on all my reels besides my senko

I was at Walmart grocery shopping with wife this morning picked up a spool of power pro 50lb for my weighted texas rigged baits and 20 lb for the wife's spinning reel,gonna give it a shot tomorrow morning, I havent used braid since they first came out with it and I was snapping rods and cooking reels I'm sure it's changed alot since than, see what happens tomorrow ?

Once something like that happens losing a big fish on a certain line all confidence is gone if I kept it on I would be thinking about it every cast my.mind can't handle that ?
