Need help finding Baby Mama
I did yesterday. I'm waiting on a response, but I was wondering if someone knew anything since it might be a week or so before I hear something.

Need help finding Baby Mama
I figured that would get your attention to click on the post. This is actually a serious question though. Where can I find the Buddha Baits Baby Mama? They don't have them on TW and I can't even find them on the MFG's site. I got a pack sent in the MTB pro box a month or two back and they are incredible as a jig trailer and I need more.

Buzzbait strikes
I had my MF rod rigged with a 5" GP senko and I didn't have any luck. Then again, I was drifting quite a bit. I made several passing runs. I may try my MHF rod for buzzbaits next weekend and see if I do any better. It just looked like the bass were swiping at it, but then again, it's hard to tell when they strike lightning fast.

Buzzbait strikes
I went back out today. There was a really good windblown point that I fished with 8-10 MPH winds with muddy water. I figured it would be perfect to try out the buzz-bait again. I started with a shad colored skirt on a 3/8 oz buzz-bait. I got a short strike up from 8-10 ft of water. I then switched to black, and I had another short strike. I had trailer hooks on both buzz-baits. So I switched to a bright colored wake bait, fished the whopper plopper 90 with some pauses, then fished a square bill and flat sided crank from 2-7 ft. I did everything I could think of besides slow down with a jig or DS, which wouldn't be possible in that amount of wind on the main lake from my kayak. My anchor would just slightly slow my drift. Is there anything I can try next time when the fish seem to want top water that will make the fish commit to the bait? Later in the morning, I went to a productive bay with matted grass and lily pads. Around noon I flipped a 1/2 oz jig and craw and pulled out some descent fish, including my best of the day which was just over 3 lbs. I really had to work for every bite.

Are you using 50 - 65 or 80lb Braid
If you're saying that 65 digs in, then 80 will dig in less. If it works, it works. I use 50lb and even if I'm pitching a jig in lily pads, it seems to work fine. But maybe you are pitching it into much heavier stuff than me...

Slop bays
It's a shallow bay with dense weed growth. Usually lily pads are the typical weeds found in these areas.

Slop bays
This year I've been fishing a slop bay. You wouldn't even think this bay would be conducive to big bass, but it is, so I'm guessing the key to this area is the lily pads and weed growth. I've been enjoying buzzing around lily pads and also flipping the pads for nice LMB in less than 5 ft of water. My question is this: At what point do bass leave the slop bays? Is it after the pads die off? After summer turnover? When they transition to their winter patterns?

Best Shaky Head worm???
Yeah, the plasma tail should float up which I would think would give it great action.

New PB LMB
My goal is to beat your PB this weekend. NICE FISH!

Best Shaky Head worm???
Has anyone tried a plasma tail on a shakey head? I'm going to try it this weekend on a 6.5" in junebug, shakey head seems to be the ticket on this particular lake.

stx spinning
I already did. They said to send it back with proof of purchase or receipt and a note of the issue with the reel. I still love the reel I just hope this isn't a common issue. That clutch assembly seems overly complex compared to a stradic.

stx spinning
@Delaware Valley Tackle I took the reel apart AGAIN, and it seems to be fine. But after a certain period of time, the clutch starts to slip when I try to back-reel. It seems to be 3 fast rotations of the handle, and then it is able to back-reel with anti-reverse still engaged. Do any common issue come to mind? It's still under warranty, so If the fix doesn't stick after my trip this weekend, I'll send it back to Abu Garcia.

stx spinning
And it's doing it again... I feel like since it works then stops functioning normal it has something To do with the grease working its way up from the gears and getting slopped up around the clutch, which would make it slip. I think after my next trip I'll just send it back to Abu Garcia.

stx spinning
I've noticed on the last two outings that my Revo STX20 spinning reel has been back reeling (while anti-reverse is ON) when I hook a fish, or try pull a snag free. Today, I decided to pull my reel apart. I noticed a decent bit of grease from the MFG. (the reel is only about 8 months old.) I wiped down the grease on the one-way clutch and put it all back together. It worked a little better but after about 3 revolutions, it would reverse if I would crank in the opposite direction. I took it apart again and cleaned the clutch with rubbing alcohol and let it dry. This fixed the issue, but I'm wondering if the little pins inside of the clutch, or even the clutch casing should be lubed with anything? Also, it seems like I could only oil the very bottom bearing and lightly grease the gears without this issue reoccurring . Has anyone else had this issue with the STX? I would take pictures but I've had enough with maintenance on this reel 'til winter.

Ugly Stik GX2, time to upgrade?
Get a Medium power fast action rod in the 7' range. I like the St. Croix avid X in the price range. I'm not sure if you want spinning or baitcasting... I can't really speculate on what people will trade for a higher end rod but it's worth a shot. I have a Medium- heavy GX2...by far the worst rod I own. I never should've bought it, it's like casting with a 5lb dumbbell.

What is your choice of line for weightless Senkos?
Yes, I t-rigged the senko. I was using 3" Senko's on a 2/0 rig-n-hook and 3/0 medium wire hook on 5"

Yeah I hear that. I did notice that the flouro started sinking right away, which when you are fishing from shore and casting towards the weed edge, it seems like you would want the senko to sink as fast as it possibly can ( while still being weightless) in order to get it in front of the fish and preventing it from laying on the weed edge. I guess the only way I'll know is to spool one setup with braid and spool another with flouro and see which I like best.

The best I can do in that department is a MF 6'8 LTB with my MGX baitcaster (once it arrives.) I have an old ugly stik 6'6 ish spinning rod, that I would need a reel for if I wanted to do spinning.

I agree with everything you're saying. The first thing that crossed my mind before I posted was "will the braid affect the action of the senko?" A few years ago I had 10 or 15 lb braid on a spinning setup and caught fish, and I was too new to the bass fishing scene to even think about it ( which may have been a blessing.) I really like the way the flouro performed at the lake yesterday.

What's your fishing glasses preference?
I wear Oakleys- flak jackets. I've heard good things about costas but I haven't felt the need to switch. Outstanding polarization and clarity, there is a lens for every type of situation, and not to mention it stopped a flying piece of shrapnel from entering my right eye. I suggest buying a good pair and then protecting them by soft sleeve or case whenever possible.

I've never heard of that one before. I'll give it a shot if they aren't cooperating next weekend. This weekend can't come soon enough...
