  1. Can you give this lecture to my fishing partner? He won't listen to me...
  2. Thanks! Your old rod holder is on the left rear of the kayak mounted on those mounting plates. It sure as hell beats having two baitcasters side-by-side on a lay down rod rolder.
  3. I went to a very pressured lake today that I've fished from shore once or twice but never really was able to dissect it and fish it. Me and my buddy had a strategy, stuck with it and it paid off. 10 fish between the both of us which were mostly smaller one pound fish but we did manage to find some good spots that had some better fish. The first fish ( 4lbs 10 oz) was caught on a black on black Cavitron buzz bait. This was the first time I used this buzz bait and it will definitely not be the last. All of the fish were associating to rocks in about 10-12 feet of water. The second bass was just over 2 lbs and I caught him on a bright colored DT10. Boat control was very tough with the 10-15 mph winds but I was able to stay focused and anchor (and drift) when necessary. All other fish were caught on a drop shot with a pearl shakey shad.
  4. I was picturing you lipping a walleye LOL.
  5. I would agree with this. The moderate action and a little less drag will definitely help. I use straight braid for all of my finesse cranks on the river and it is working fairly well. Sometimes I'll throw cranks on a 2-3 ft flouro leader, I'm not sure if it helps with shock absorption or not but that's an option as well.
  6. LOL, I was waiting to read this comment from someone.
  7. I would take a look at the revo Stx and also the stradic fk and pick which one you like best. I think TW has a demo program that might be worthwhile.
  8. I had this exact same questions in the late winter. I've been using 6'9" avid X MLXF and it does very well with husky jerk HJ06 -HJ10 and I would say 10's are the absolute limit. I would recommend running small # test flouro, I think it would be more versatile IMO.
  9. I know what you mean because I can cast a 1/4 oz buzz bait with brakes on 4 without backlash, but try to cast a dt4 or dt6 and its all finicky. I also have to put the brakes on 6-8 for the cranks under 3/8 oz.

Yep, that's definitely the ones strike king makes exclusively for dick's. They work pretty good. I just add a trailer hook and usually put a longer skirt on.
  11. I use an extend-a-truck on my F-150. I'm looking into a roof rack so when I go camping and want to take my yak and still have bed space with tailgate up, I can put th extender in the vertical position to carry it like a ladder rack.
  12. Wow. My wife got one for me last Father's Day for $325...
  13. Has the Revo MGX been discontinued? I'm not overly concerned, I would just like to know how long parts will be available for. Any input regarding this would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  14. Well, I've already drilled my holes. Hopefully I can't think of any ways to improve it lol.
  15. Just installed my YakAttack. Cannot wait to use it. I can finally slow down and fish an area effectively. Hopefully this is a game changer.
  16. Ok. I just cleaned it a couple months ago too. I'll crack it open again and give it a good cleaning. Thanks!
  17. When is your YouTube channel going live?
  18. I've had my Revo SX for about 2 years now. I love the reel, but I've noticed that there is a lot of resistance on the mag brake adjustment from the 4 position all the way to 0. I've taken it apart and added oil. Is there anything else I should be looking for? I didn't notice any wear, should I be adding oil or grease on the mag brake adjuster?
  19. Cool. I'll take a look. I've bought a new rod and reel about every 6 months so... I'm going to have to clear this with the boss...
  20. Did you ever try the STX?
  21. I took it apart. I'm glad I did. It's about as basic as it gets and I still don't know exactly what I did. I just took it all apart, took the grease off, put oil on the drag washers, and put it back together. It now works fine. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction!
  22. ok. I've never had this happen before, and the reel is only 5 months old. It might be a coincidence, but it stopped clicking once I oiled it... Where exactly is the clicker located?
  23. I oiled my Revo Stx spinning reel the other day. I hit the shaft and also inside the spool with oil. I'm assuming the clicker is inside the spool. I've never taken a spinning reel apart other than removing the spool so forgive me if I'm using the incorrect terminology. Ever since I oiled the reel, there has been little to no clicking when you pull line off the reel or a fish is pulling drag. Any suggestions?
