I used to run into this problem while walleye fishing on the Columbia river and I used one of the old worm blowers dont know if they make the type I have it looks like a hypodermic needle and I just pulled the plunger out of it.

I have used the cheap walmart brand dont care for them personally seems like I spent more time bending them back into shape to run straight than I did fishing with them.

I use the flabeau big mouth spinner bait box that came with my soft side tackle box works great for me use to be able to buy them at walmart seperatly but my store doesnt carry them anymore.

I dont usually use fat ikas that deep but you might try putting a small nail in the lure rather than a split shot above the hook Just my 2 cents.

I have built alot of my own jigs using the standard collars and skirts but was considering getting some of the cone type collars. Have any of you jig builders used them and do you like them or not? Looking for some opinions likes dislikes etc...

I have used circle hooks for a long time on my whacky rigs as well as when I am dropshotting wacky and regular style. I would also like to say sam what a awesome idea going to the hardware store in a few minutes just to buy some shrink tubing. Once again this shows why this is the best bass fishing site on the web.

I have had great luck on crappie color pattern lures in waters that have a abundance of crappie.

I would say my all time favorite top water is a Storm Rattlin chug bug, I often use buzzbaits as well.

Man you guys are making me home sick I grew up on the Columbia right below the John Day Dam. In the summer I walked every day from my house to the river a 5 in the morning and fished all morning swimmed when it got hot and fished all evening what a great place. My personal best was 5lb 4oz not a huge fish but I was proud of it I caught it on a electric blue curly tail grub.

Heres a suggestion why dont you guys that know all about writing resumes post a guideline in the important topics for all the newbies to use as a guide line make it general no names just give them a example to go by.

Being that I am a store manager they might be phasing out the fishing tackle in stores not near the water there not doing away with fishing tackle.... After seeing this post I called the home office and did some digging if there getting rid of fishing tackle than the store mgr your talking to knows more than I do. But I doubt it
