  1. I use micro munch elgordo tube in road kill cammo in most my tube fishing but I also like the strike king white bleeding tube if I am swimming the tube or the black and blue for pitching and flippin into weeds.
  2. On a weightless wacky rig I usually use a Gammy octopus circle hook in size one and when I am doing it with a drop shot rig I use a Gammy octopus circle hook in size 4.
  3. I have lost many a fish due to the drag on my spinning reels so I started back reeling instead of trusting the drag. I would say my catch rate has gone way up since than matter of fact I cant remember the last time I lost a fish (knock on wood). You might give it a try.
  4. WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!!!!
  5. Before I got rid of my big boat I would take weekend trips anywhere from a hour to Norfork lake and as far as Lake of the Ozarks and all the other lakes in between be it for Tournaments or just fishing with the family I hated getting rid of it but I found it worthwhile just because I love to fish.
  6. I have caught a fish once that way I just figured it was a suicidal fish it was purly accident I was fishing it that was I was watching someone else catch a fish and wasnt paying attention to what I was doing.
  7. For deep water cranking I have never used the Norman Cranks I personally use the Luhr Jensen Hotlips or the Baby Hot Lips and have been known to catch fish on a Power Dive Minnow. Might give them a try as well.
  8. Just a little tip I have found works for me on dropshots if I am fishing vertical over cover is I try to keep a short leader 8 to 10 inches. If I am casting the DS rig I use a leader that is 12 to 14 inches it seems to work better for me.
  9. I actually have 2 and couldnt decide which was my favorite so they are a zoom super fluke or a tube bait.
  10. Mine would have to be a Rat L Trap Bleeding shiner in 1/2 oz although I confess I dont use lipless crankbaits very often.
  11. When it gets that way for me I just put the rod down and take a cool swim and try later.
  12. Heres the link for California for you. http://www.fieldandstream.com/fieldstream/igfa/california.html
  13. I dont use that paticular brand of small jig but when I use small jigs I tend to use 3 to 4 inch double tail grubs. I picked up some small flw crawdads that work pretty well on a small jig as well.
  14. I dont really have a guideline for having a mount made I think its all in what a person thinks is a trophy to them. If it looks like something beautiful you would want on your wall I say have it done.
  15. Self employed as a gunsmith and haul rental canoes and drive a shuttle van on the weekends.
  16. I have been using the manns hardnose lately and seem to be doing well in the past I have had luck on the yums as well.
  17. I keep the little packets of silica jell that you find in electronics packages and so on and keep one in each of my 3700 boxes and not had a problem with rust. To make life simple get some split ring pliers its money well spent. Something I also do is keep split rings on hand that I can change out if there looking a little rough or rusty or a little sprung.
  18. I was looking through my bass pro shops summer fishing catalog I got in the mail today and saw a tool for putting on O rings is this the tool that your talking about cart? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=95042&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults I thought it was a great idea just wasnt sure how well they work.
  19. I would use any kind of inline spinners like roostertails, bluefox, and panther martins. I would also try some curly tail grubs on a lead jighead electric blue being my all time favorite for smallies.
  20. I use zoom super flukes in white silver flake and in watermelon black flake I usually rig them on a 4/0 gammie weightless and cast it out let it sink and jerk it and twitch it at diffrent depths in the water column or I put it on a drop hook and pitch it into holes in the weeds let it fall and rip it out let it fall and rip it again.
  21. CONFIDENCE:mean a state of mind or a manner marked by easy coolness and freedom from uncertainty. Does Bass fishing apply I think not in most cases. I have confidence in alot of fishing tecniques because I say to my self Iam going down to the lake and catchin a fish on ____________________ and I make myself do it in every conceviable way I can think of. That being said I have confidence in what ever I am fishing at the time maybe it will take 100 casts maybe it will take 10 its not about a pocket full of confidence its about knowing what ever your fishing with you believe in and sticking with it and fishing it every way you have learned till you get it right.
  22. I see this a few times a year and your best bet is to find the same cover you were fishing when it was low and fish the down current side. For example I have a place on the river where I fish almost every day and is a good producer most the time it is in slack water. When the river rises the tree is still there but the current has moved in past it but I still fish the down stream side because the bass are still using it as cover but the log on the down stream side is still slack. The same thing happens with other cover weedbeds, rock piles and so on just fish the slack water on the down current side.
  23. WELCOME ABOARD!!!!! You will do well reading all the info on this site and the guys and gals here are good at answering your questions good luck.
  24. I have never had much of a problem storing plastics in my t-box containers up until I used some of the 3x stuff and it got hot man what a mess. I now keep all my plastics in there original package or put them in ziplock sandwich bags then I have them in larger ziplock bags by bait for example all my worms are in one large zip lock in there individual packaging same with sticks, tubes, and so on works for me.
  25. My most productive soft plastics really depends on the time of year and where I am fishing. In the river near my house right now I have been having good luck on Tiki Sticks. But I know with the heat I will change up soon to tube baits which are very productive during the summer here for me. On the Ozark lakes I have been having great success with Luhr Jensen baby hotlips which isnt a soft plastic but I also been doing well with drop shotting a trick worm wacky style. So to be honest I couldnt narrow it down to just one bait.
