5k would pay all my tournament fees and road expenses very nicely.

This was told to my by a old time bass fisherman who fished early on in the BASS tounaments cause i wondered the same thing. He told me that the rule change came when some of the fishermen decided to add broomhandles and such to there existing nets allowing them to net the fish 15 ft away from the boat so BASS said that took the fighting and landing part of tournament fishing out of the sport so they banned nets.

I have had seagulls on several occasions take a topwater bait I was fishing with if its easy pray for fish its easy pray for birds as well.

I remember a thread i read on here about a forum sticker dont know if it ever came to pass but I would buy one for sure if they sold them and proudly put it on my boat. Buzzbait,weightless fluke, Jerkbait or some kind of topwater spook or popper.

They may have cancelled bass center which doesnt really bother me cause I dont care for The Batchlor Brian Velvic but has anyone noticed there premearing a couple of new shows cant remember the names but maybe it will be a good thing ( maybe)

If I am ordering off the web from a general tackle place its Tackle warehouse, I have ordered from Reaction Innovations website as well. I buy most my tackle at Bass Pro Shops since springfield is only a hour drive away.

Better to jerk and miss a fish than miss a fish by not jerking. Hook sets are free.

I was born and raised on the Columbia River in Oregon fishing smallies at a young age. Moved to Missouri 10 years ago and now i fish all the Missouri/ Arkansas Ozark lakes as often as I can. Life is grand.

I have been keeping log book for years. The last few years I made up my own form but since I joined this forum I found the one on the site and I like it even better.

I can remember fishing with my old neighbor from the time i was 8 at age 12 i fished the river banks of the columbia river for small mouth bass alone. In the summer i would get up eat pack a sandwich and walk down to the river and throw a roostertail in yellow or black all day for smallies. I recently turned 40 myself.

Due to the distance I have to travel I am considering starting a BASS affiliated bass club in south central Missouri and Northern Arkansas I have seen a few posts from people in this region so i sent for the information. I am looking for people who might be interested in starting a club in this area. The area is the Doniphan West plaines Thayer Mammoth Springs Salem area anyone interested let me know

I dont see where 1 fish a day or 30 fish a day makes any diffrence any bad day fishing is better than any other day doing anything else ( Personal opinion). I never had a 30 fish day unless you count something other than bass. I am happy with 4 or 5 in a day.

Theres a good discussion in one of the senko forums that is kind of on that order but i personally use wave tiki sticks there more durable than a senko and cost alot less and I catch as man fish on a tiki as i do a senko.

Bass clubs in my opinion are a great way to learn but you need to find one that suits your needs. There are some that are orintated to the serious bass fisherman who is into the tounament fishing. Then there are clubs that are very family orientated there a little more relaxed and willing to share you need to find one that suits your needs most of all.

Your running into the same problem I am. I am down by doniphan and MOBASS.com lists the one in Cape Girardo and the one in Springfield as the closest to me and they are both to far for me to travel and be a active member.

Dont rule out poppers at nite either i have had great success with them in all types of water at nite as well as buzz baits. I have also used spook type baits especially if your hearing shat jumping at nite.
