  1. Some one said in a earlier post that spinnerbaits are spinnerbaits and that is true to a point. I have fished the 1.00 spinnerbaits and I had a hard time keeping them tuned and it seemed once you caught a decent sized fish on one it was so bent out of shap that it couldnt be tuned back up to work straight. I feel the couple more dollars for a decent spinner bait is worth the time wasted tuning and straightening out the cheaper spinnerbaits.
  2. Like a old time tournament fisherman told me once "JERKS ARE FREE" I too watch the line where it enters the water but I often time feel it before I see it.
  3. WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!!!!!
  4. I would just like to add that I was fishing on a lake one time and a large thunderstorm appeared. I was young and stupid back than so I stayed on the water. But if anyone has ever seen lightning striking water as I did the first hint of a storm YOU would be off the water as I do now.
  5. I might add to rolo's comment I rig mine sometimes sidewards with a 3/0 ewg red on the white super fluke and had that bait murdered all day.
  6. WHAT HE SAID!!!!!! Heres my advise keep fishing your young have lots of time. Try to master every technique that you can. Study as much material as you can. Ask alot of questions and dont be bothered by negativity. There is a whole web of information out there on self promotion learn learn learn. GOOD LUCK!!!
  7. WELCOME ABOARD!!!!! The best thing to do with those trick worms is to buy you some shakey heads or something simular. Thats what works best for me. GOOD LUCK
  8. I have been fishing under those conditions here in southern Missouri myself and saw the same thing the other day. I rigged a weightless fluke and worked it just under the surface and got hammered all day. I think like RW said as well a lipless crank or even a suspending jerk bait would work well.
  9. WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!!This is the place to be congradulations on your new pb.
  10. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is.
  11. Just take one that you have down to a automotive store or a hardware store and compare sizes they will gladly help you out and if you dont have anymore take one of the senko's down there and find one that fits. If you used tiki sticks your wouldnt need O rings.
  12. Most wholesale places wont sell to the general public you have to have a tax number and a business license. Your best bet is to find a small mom and pop fishing tackle store and ask them if they would do the ordering for you. Just offer to pay all the shipping and give them a few dollars for there troubles. You could also start your "own business" per say.
  13. I havent used the rollin runner but I have used the blakemore road runner same thing almost and I usually put on a curly tail grub or a double tail grub and I just cast and retrieve it like a spinner.
  14. My all time favorite is a storm rattlin chug bug. I have fished it more than any other but lately been having luck on the lews speed lures popper and caught a couple on the lews speed lures pencil as well.
  15. Tiki Sticks (wacky style) finesse worms baby brush hogs super flukes as well as tiny flukes
  16. 1 Tubes 2 Flukes 3 Jigs 4 Knock offs (not Senko's) ;D

    WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!!
  19. A scale is the only true way to know those fish calculators are only for a estimation of weight they will never be exact.
  20. I am not sure if you can get a good estimate just by length. If you use a tape measure and get the length and the girth measurments you can use a fish weight calculator like the one at the top of the page in the tackle box section. I stole a cloth measuring tape for sewing from the wife just for that reason. I do carry a scale as well. You can find the cloth sewing tapes at any sewing center or sewing supply store.

  22. I just cut the hook and leave it. There was a simular question a while back about this and someone posted a nifty tool for doing it and I went and ordered one and its the cats meow as far as I am concerned get one for yourself its well worth the money for saving the fish. http://www.dbarb.com/
  23. DITTO!!!!!
  24. My favorite way to fish cover like that is with a big tube weighted with a gambler florida rig. I pitch it into holes in the weeds and give it slack line so it will fall as vertical as I can make it. When the tube hits the bottom I let it sit and then shake it now and again. I than rip it out of the weeds and pitch it to another working the weeds as methodically as I can.
  25. With that set up you should be able to cast a 3/8ths spinner bait a country mile if your reel is set right. I would do a little back yard casting and get used to the reel using a casting weight.
