  1. Not true with spinnerbaits. Cloudy days with or without wind work well. I'll leave the rest for some resident expert to steer you one way or another.
  2. Pics? What's it called?
  3. Same here most almost all my bank fishing is private water. I load the Z71 with the big bag and grab 3 to 5 rods usually 2 Spinning 3 Baitcasting and pull less than a 100 feet usually end up backing right up to the water using tailgate for a table.
  4. I did the hiring for a little over 10 yrs at the company I worked for. I saw it go from bad to worse. We started like this if needing 3 new employees we would bring in 4 or 5. And almost always got the 3 decent employees. When I left the company if we needed 1 new employee we would bring in 10. And be d**n lucky if we didn't have to go through 10 more just to get one that would be on time, wear pants that stayed covering his ass, do what was asked, and could read and write where you could understand them. I seriously got sick of it. It turned my stomach to think this is what America has become. It's no wonder nearly 50% want the government to control their lives. They would starve to death if they had to count on their own abilities. Which probably would not be a bad thing. We sure don't need them reproducing. I feel your pain man goodluck.
  5. <cough> <cough> yeah me too Seriously I never had the desire to see where I stack up against more guys fishing. I could care less if a guy has a hog hop on his line instead of mine. I'm happy for him. Don't get me wrong I would love to catch one but do I feel any less of a person because he caught it, no. This is kind a odd because I am pretty competitive at most things. But fishing has always been about relaxing zero stress zero pressure. I don't even want to go if I have a deadline to be back by. I enjoy pretty much every part of my fishing days.
  6. Went and looked at it today. I agree there is way more work than fishing involved there. Although the owner never said a price I believe $100 or less would have took it he wanted it gone. I passed
  7. Look at it this way there is now were to go but up. Your starting on the bottom with zero so eventually you will find them. I have this one place i go because I just know there are a couple a monsters in there. If you see the place its like Bass heaven. Anyway I haven't pulled one out over 2 lbs yet. But I haven't let it get me down. I just know when I do start catching them its going to be awesome! Think positive
  8. I'm a Lew's fan as well. So yeah Lews Speed Spool LFS all day. Watch the Flea Market here. Tonight I just bought a lightly used Lews Speed Spool Tournament for $74 at my door. There are good reels on there fairly often.
  9. My Walmart was carrying the Pepper Custom Spinnerbaits for $5.95 I think but for some reason clearanced them all out at $3 each. I bought every one. They are 10 times the quality of the Walmart $1 ones. Blades spinn so easy and smooth. Also they have the bait holder for a soft plastic trailer behind the head of the bait. Something many do not have. As far as the wire being heavy killing vibration I haven't noticed any measurable difference in production. I haven't took any calipers to them but I'm guessing it's a .032 or .035 wire and feels quite limber comparing to the Mepps and Walmart ones I have. I have to say I like them a lot. Priced reasonable for a quality bait.
  10. I have no issues with the braid. I have Ultracast Invisi-Braid on a couple of my reels. I haven't tried mono either.
  11. I agree ^^^ I guess the rivets haven't been a issue to you ? That is the only thing I didn't like the way that was assembled and some reviews mentioned them coming loose. I did want to try one but not at $200+ I might have gone $100 for one in a 6.6 or so speed or higher.

I asked the same thing a while back. In general why would anyone pay even the $50 prices for these mass produced baits. If I remember correctly some fairy that was kin to Santa Clause and partied with God himself makes it so. Teasing of course before I get slaughtered for saying such a horrible thing. Its only worth it if they sell you a sales pitch and make you believe it enough to con your $ from you. An example would be that video/commercial of that guy "supposedly" making these in his basement with elevator music playing. Or that pro that is telling you this is the greatest bait ever as he collects sponsor $$$. That is a con job for YOUR $$$. Then all it takes is one or two to believe it and the battle is all but over once you get a few believing the hype. Your Ferrari actually could be justified with the exotic materials and research to make the millions of components work along with the computer system. Your still buying a block of wood some hooks and supposedly a hand carving. This is a hand carving to me. that Roman Made is in a wood shop using power tools eloquently blocked out with music. Let this guy carve you a swim bait. Oh and you have to love this line on this webpage if this is indeed them http://dyavm.ftvcs.servertrust.com/default.asp Lets streamline manufacturing well I thought it was one guy hand making these things. What are we doing cloning him now? Its pretty generally known manufacturing is make (something) on a large scale using machinery. According to Google.
  13. Mann's 1-Minus Crankbaits dives 1ft Bandit 100 Series SB 16 Crankbait dives 2ft to 5ft I now use the above 2 now more than ever. These stay in that zone much better than trying to keep another bait that sinks non stop in your target area. Also considering their depths they are awesome for fishing ponds etc from shore. I still rely heavily on my Mann's Jelly Worms and Peppers Custom Spinnerbaits as my go to baits. So I would have to add some of those.
  14. Thanks guys this is sort of about what I expected. Maybe a little worse. I for some reason doubt he will "give" me the boat. Assuming what your saying is correct and I believe it probably is rotted some if not a lot. What is the most it would be worth. I'm assuming the 90hp Johnson motor is not hurt maybe a tune up from sitting etc but where would to much be? $100 $200 or $500? I'm not in love with it just looking for a inexpensive way to have a little more boat. I just fish for fun so there is nothing to validate spending monthly payments for me to float around 60 days a year.

I found for me best results is to leave them in the bag until needed. I do have some in some Plano boxes just because I bought in bulk and I don't want to tote 10lbs of one exact color, shape, and size of worm for one day of fishing. I would have 100 lbs of just worms to have 10 colors if I didn't pull a few out. He shows here how to straiten the kinked or bent up baits without making a mess.
  16. I have come across a 1986 (I think its a 86') Kingfisher bass boat. Wanted to see if any of you boat gurus knew anything about them. This one has been neglected bad parked under a tree with no cover for 2 years. All the carpet is either ripped up, or out, or is nasty as heck. I didn't see any rips in the seats but there might be a few small ones or weather cracks. It has a 90hp Johnson and a Min Kota trolling motor. Some very small depth finder is there as well but looks like its probably ruined. It looks like a serious cleaning and new carpet would change its appearance dramatically. But I am no boat expert but want to get in one just to be able to hobby fish from. Not looking for a tournament or to join the Jones club comparing rides. Im just looking for a basic boat that can be fished from on a lake with a friend or two. The old Jon boat is fine but a little more solid vessel would be nice in the open water. Do you guys think there is any chance that it is worth saving without going in the red (spending way to much on a old boat)? And if so what roughly would it be worth. I was thinking $500.00 max but I may be way short on what its worth. Just considering I have no clue if anything works I didn't want to spend to much. This is the only pic I have currently.
  17. For me its a non-issue. I just cant say I have ever found a hook dull from being stored. Not dull in any way that is a scientifically measurable that could prove one way or another.
  18. I have a very similar bag as the one AJ posted its Gander Mountains version of it. It holds 7 or 8 3700 boxes plus a lot more. I like it a lot if you on a boat or stationary on shore. But there is no way I'm carrying that monster I carry a Okeechobee Fats Tackle Bag moving around. It holds 4 or 5 Plano 3700 style boxes and is light enough to carry.
  19. Do you know what wire diameter "very thin" is? I see .035 is common for the smaller size a lot.
  20. First pic is pretty much all of what I was throwing in but i am sure there will be a few extras. The other pictures are some closer up ones. If there is something specific you like to use let me know I might have some. Please PM me your address and i will try to ship out Monday.
  21. Holy smokes - $9.96 each + Shipping and Handling! We are talking about a Spinnerbaits. Over $20 for 2 baits. I hate to sound negative but He didn't just invent the wheel here fellas. I'm passing on price alone unless it has a guarantee to produce a keeper every other cast.
  22. I'll put some stuff together tonight and get with ya. No money needed. I think people are more willing to help because you did not ask outright for freebies. Had you started that way I would have never responded most likely.
  23. Yeah was like what did you just say. I wasn't sure how he went from life's to short to picking on a emoji but OK. Now what was it that was so serious? No one was hurt a guy was trying to do the right thing but was neive maybe and got burnt. Sounds a lot like politics. But hey the guy that lost a $100 must have a lot of money or doesnt care because I don't have a lot and If I have a $100 I can guarantee you I am not losing it. Don't believe me give me a $100 and get back with me later.
  24. Can't stand the Glock either. I know it's like the Grail to some but it's not my gun. Never had a feel for them. I do like the Ruger SR series I have a SR45 I keep at bedside. Also Ruger service is freaking awesome if you ever have to deal with them. I bought a P95 at a pawnshop and had to send it in is how I know. They went through it repaired it and had it back to me in 10 days and wasn't charged a fee. That is service considering I told them it was a pawnshop purchase.
