  1. In a case like that heck yes. If your gonna do a photo shoot by all means the fish wants to look good too. Well really he/she probably doesn't care but why take a pic of a fish you cant see its pretty colors.
  2. Just to clarify I said send you a package but rereading that I didn't mean like a single package of worms or something. I meant like a jump start of many different types of lures/baits. Similar to what I did here.
  3. Oh man no you didnt go around asking people if they lost a $100.00 Please say you didn't. Come on what did you expect 100% honest people only?
  4. I would say in general if I am fishing to release yeah I try not to touch or mess with the fish no more than necessary. Unfortunately for the decent eating size ones I am like the bad dream for them as they end up on my table.
  5. I have some stuff I was considering throwing up on the board to sell dirt cheap or to give to a new young person trying to get started. I have been fortunate enough that some others here gave me more than I actually purchased from them Also as others have said baits I will never use seem to accumulate. I would be willing to send you a package that may help motivate you to get back on the saddle if you are interested?
  6. I agree with both. It should do fine as a crank rod. At that price if it blows no big loss there.
  7. Yes I did read them, but it was posts like these below I read and part of my post was response to that train of thought. Guess you didnt read to much yourself.
  8. It is funny like a TV soap to see fans take sides. At this point all a Eagles fan can do is ride the boat. The deal is done. Just my opinion the majority of millionairs understand odds and $ or have a well paid group of highly skilled gurus that do. And the majority are saying not us. Just a idea the reason all those other teams dont do it is because its slim chance of floating. Count how many have sold so much and bough a QB and won the SB with no team? It's a Team sport and no matter what qb he won't survive without some players around him. I guess if they are looking to throw away a ton of money with a high probability of suck OK. I just think you can suck for a whole lot less $ and still have some picks to build. Didn't the Eagles just try a coach that liked swinging for the fence? Isn't that kind a how you guys got this snowball rolling?
  9. As far as the Eagles trade goes right now its a coin toss. As has been stated if that new QB turns out to be a bust I would not want to be a Eagle fan for the next 10 years as they try and recover. Of course on the slim chance the QB turns out to be a rare above average QB its all great. So either they have huge balls risking the franchise for the next decade, or like the idea of trying to recover from a salary capped mess or they really have been praying and someone thinks they were answered. Any way you slice doesn't look good. Good luck I would not have bet the farm on a 20 something kid but I am a little more conservative.
  10. I agree as some call them your confidence baits would be first as you know you will use them. And I agree with loudcherokee a LTB or MTB subscription would be a great way to get some nice lures for a reasonable price. Also search around the flea market here. I have seen some nice deals here and in the clearance/sale section of many of the bait websites. Sebile clearance priced baits Cabelas Footloose, Bandit 100, and 200 Series I also find a lot of lures on clearance at my local Walmart.
  11. Typical weight used with Texas Rigging can be Tungsten or lead, use the smaller profile weight that gets the job done. If you can afford Tungsten its a much better weight for this as it keeps the profile very compact on the bait and still gives you the ability to cast it a decent distance. For me the weight is used in ponds mainly for casting. Sometimes to get it into some cover if its thick and I cant get the bait to drop in where I want it. Leaving the weight free not pegged usually lets the bait have a better presentation. I prefer it not pegged when using a weight. Like others have said you can use a bobber stop or toothpick to peg the weight but I rarely see a need for this in pond fishing. Most cases I use no weight or a 1/8 or 3/16 oz unless I just have to throw directly into a strong wind or heavy cover.
  12. Bye
  13. Not really. I did look online for physical dimensions on the 300 but never found any. I thought it might be on the bigger side of the reels. I would have been very happy with a 100 or a 200 but figured a brand new 300 I would try for $100.00. No matter they arent selling any of the 6.6:1 ones it appears anyway. Sort of like a sign I guess I didnt need it.
  14. She said they had the 5.3:1 no problem. Im debating on one.
  15. Happens all the time.
  16. Looks like all the other websites that updated in the last 12 months. Slap a logo on top and spread out the crud.
  17. The Customer Service lady said they had plenty of those so you should be good.
  18. I think maybe at one time it was a noticeable / measurable to the average user how braid was wearing different. But like others have said I believe the contaminants today are much more abrasive and destructive than the line choice. Rod and reel manufactures have constantly evolved to make sure their equipment works with all the popular line choices. And to top that off braid today is nothing like braid from 10 years ago. Braid now days has evolved to a much more fishing friendly line unlike the rope like material that was sold originally. Just an example would be the many many different lines each company produces. TW has at least 50 different types of braid listed and I am sure there will be more coming. The same is happening every year the reel and rod manufacturers are changing materials and evolving. Like so many things in fishing most there is no standard, and some no real clear way to determine facts. With a blanket statement that one line vs another causes more wear on a reel is really not worth making the comment with no laboratory test run in a controlled environment to back the claim. Heck there are only a million different reels, what reel(s) was this that was wearing so bad? Fun to banter about but that is about it.
  19. Well that didn't take long got a email this morning that says its now on back order so we all know that probably means it isn't happening.
  20. Yeah it does seem almost like it could be one of those bait deals. There is only a couple of the item in the country they run huge discount on to get people calling and coming in at a above normal volume hoping you might pick something up while there. I found it quite insane i was talking to a Cabelas and yet she could not contact a Cabelas in Alaska. I asked her to "sweet talk" them into sending me one since she was saying I could. Then she craw fished saying she wasn't allowed and that just because inventory said 2 that they were taught that meant there were none when it was that low of a number. So I guess they lose so much merchandise that inventory is a guess on the $300 and up reels. Maybe they are passing them out at Christmas parties to the employees?
  21. ^^^ Does it really matter? No I use strait braid 90% of the time no leaders and dont have any problems catching fish. I have several colors on my rods and on any given day they all perform about the same. I think people give the fish way more bains than most people have. Hey if your pocket book can buy every gimmick they push, tie on all the fluorocarbon leaders your fingers can handle. Switch line colors as the weather changes. etc etc If your not putting the right bait in the right places at the right time it wont matter if you use a bootlace for line. Just my .02
  22. Just hung up with their Customer Service #. Supposedly they have like 1 or 2 of these 6.6 ratio reels in their retail store in Alaska. They claim that could be wrong as well as it is just a inventory number and those are sometimes off by 1 or 2. I said great call them let them get one in their hand and we will know. Believe it or not they cant do that. Not allowed... (great business practice there fellas) Then I said well give me the number and I will call. Guess what she can give me the number but the retail store numbers are sometimes answered by the Customer Service so I could just get someone back here possibly her. Next she said even if they have one and i happened to get a hold of them I would have to "sweet talk", (yes she said that) the store into shipping me one, if they have it. I said why is that? She said well they no longer ship out of any of their retail stores. So basically once something makes it to a store its there till it sells or dies. (more great business practice there fellas) Anyway she supposedly is working to try and get me one. but it didn't sound very promising. It is clearly understandable why they are not doing to well. I mean my goodness how about lets kill our own business plan. Its called follow Cabelas.
  23. Im on live chat with a woman trying to get her to get one in her hand LOL
  24. Ahh man I was just gonna order one of the 6.6 ratio ones I figured I have lost $99 on a worse risk. No wonder Bass Pro is going after them they are falling apart. Thanks for the heads up though.
