Does line make the difference?
I cant count how many Bass I have caught with weeds or what have you on it. Heck most of my strikes when fishing ponds is right as the lure is entering the crud or coming out of it. I fish braid 90% of the time with no leader stuff. To me its a waste of time and effort and adds weakness. My catching fish hasnt slowed a bit. And I don't have knots banging through my guides or a weak leader between me and my line holding my fish. Bass are not like on the list of smartest animals, they could care less if the line was yellow red green blue etc. They aren't watching the line they are looking at the bait. I think some of you guys give the fish wayyyyyyyyyyyy to much credit for brains. imho

Cheap reel
I'm at my local Walmart and on clearance they have the Shimano Sonora 2500 for $25.00 and the Mitchell Avocet RZ 2000 for $15.00 is this crazy cheap or about average. I haven't bought either or looked at recent prices on spinning reels. They each show $49.96 and $29.96 respectively as normal.

I am clearly an idiot...
Every time it snows here in n.e. Texas my northern in-laws always say us southerners don't know how to drive in it. I just want to know how anyone up north ever wrecks since the are so perfect.

Spring Time Spinnerbait
Nice looking bait I had a question though. I thought I had read that the lighter (thinner) or longer wire helped amplify the vibration? How do you measure the vibration so you know when your making more or less vibration?

Wish my Walmart carried any of the the Manns 1 minus lures.

Overcomplicating things
Other than a lot of rods n reels I swear I almost wrote that. I agree 100% I would add worms more so than the grubs, also a big believer in the K.I.S.S. philosophy.

Zoom Trick Worm Vs. Zoom Super Fluke
Worm by far for me. I keep trying the fluke but I must not be holding my rod right it's not catching fish like my other baits by a wide margin.

Spinning Rig - $500 Budget
Na the fish haven't a clue of they are using a cane pole or a $1000.00 custom rig. If you can't fish doesn't matter what you spend. Money spent just makes the fisherman feel better sometimes. My rig is about $150 and I know many friends that look at it like I spent $500.

Amen to that.

I am clearly an idiot...
d**n that sucks. I don't think you were a idiot now that you scored some good stuff. But before you said what you got... well one tow truck fee or fender bender could have changed the whole perception of the day.

Early Spring Crankbaits
No I wasn't saying it wouldn't work. I was just saying that is what they look like, or seem to me to be a variation of. I'm sure they will catch fish as I love a good lip less crank and these are very similar just a lip difference. .

Early Spring Crankbaits
A lip less with a lip nice. Tight wobble, either balsa or plastic, under 55 deg water I would stay small. But hey I like what tje0705 said, " Try different baits until you find what works as bass do not read advice posted in fishing forums. "

Vaping
No apology necessary we are having a civil discussion right? No one needs to be emotional. We see things a little different not the end of the world either way.

Vaping
I never said "man up!" nor have I said anyone was "weak minded". I was mainly responding to J Francho, the post above mine. Oh I get it completely. You are reading into posts what you are interpreting the post to read. I never said that vaping was not a tool to quit smoking. I think it is a great option to quit smoking if you cant quit without it. However I still find it as a tool that some have turn into another addiction. On that note I find it confusing as heck that someone would have the "mental fortitude" to quit an addiction to get addicted to another. Seems quite counter productive in my opinion. Everyone may be different but not one addict ever quit without that person making their own mind up to quit. You can stack 100 professionals up with all the data, pictures, and BS, but if that person is still making excuses or hasn't committed their mind to quit you can send your professionals home. That isn't "militant" that is just the truth. We can agree to disagree that is fine with me. Wasn't here to argue just a discussion as far as I am concerned.

Beginning Fishing Tackle
All good suggestions above. One thing I will mention is most Walmart have a clearance section. Tackle warehouse always has a sale as well as numerous other places. Look for promo codes etc to eliminate or cut shipping charges on orders that dont make the free shipping minimum $. Also one very good place to shop is the Flea Market section of these forums. You can use a calculator and see how cheap some sell baits in package deals for. So far everyone I have dealt with would negotiate and were honest and friendly. Shop smart I have bought nice baits and terminal tackle on the cheap just being patient and methodical.

Vaping
Yeah if I was drinking I had a cigarette guaranteed. It was just the way it worked for me. I quit smoking and the drinking went with it. Had to reevaluate my friends list as to who was going to help or hurt my choices/chances. Can't run with alcoholics and expect to quit drinking successfully mentality. There is no doubt it is extremely hard to quit addictions. But it can be done. When the person decides they want free they will quit with the excuses. That is the early tale tale sign they really get it and are serious about getting better. All the chit chat to justify an addiction is just a way to try and hide the problem. Once free from the addiction you see the excuses stand out like Trump on a good hair day.

What is a good lipless crankbait
Spro Aruku Shad is one of my favorites along with I believe they are H2O brand. But the old Rattletrap etc favorites work great to. I prefer the chrome black or chrome blue or the redish crawdad colors.
