  1. I never payed attention.
  2. Dammit this site will bleep out everything but a typo calling someone a ass that was a mistake so sorry.
  3. Use the search feature and you should find the names Mojo and Rage like a zillion times. I have a couple of the Mojo rods and think for the $ they are a great rod. yes they aren't what a "pro" might use but they are far far better than a ugly stick. As Fishin' Fool said and I agree the Rage handles are deal breakers for me on them.
  4. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and seeing the jigs posted. I am not a jig fisherman but I have one box that I have a few in. I just never get excited about fishing them don't ask why I haven't a clue.
  5. I personally haven't used Fenwick but I know I have seen more than a few times people here saying these rods are not a bad rod. Fenwick HMG GT73MHF Casting Rod 7'3" one piece rod Medium heavy rod power, fast rod action $58.88 at 41% off it might be a steal. Also you mentioned the St. Croix but not the Mojo Bass Casting Rods. The MBC70MHF rod is a nice all around rod and at $89.00 40% off and Free shipping its hard to beat. yes its not the latest greatest newest model but it was just a short while ago and they are very nice. They have several models to choose from but I emailed St. Croix and asked a similar question as yours and that is the model they suggested I try as a somewhat all around rod for me and the soft plastics and spinner baits etc I throw a lot. You might try and email or call them and see what one they suggest for you. But I am very pleased enough that I bought another. I agree Fishin' Fool I dislike the Rage handles but some do so that might be a option as well if you like that grip I just don't care for it either.
  6. ^^^ Same here with a occasional color called Baitfish.
  7. Last weekend I had a last minute chance to go and so I did. Well just so happens I didn't bring my 2nd bag that is about 90% of my plastics. (in a hurry we forgot it) Well wouldn't ya know it we reached for that bag numerous times. We missed having the options. Its a pain to bring the extra but it reminds me of why you carry or why parachutes are a good idea. Its much better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
  8. Heck not me I have mine in my pockets. Well my phone I have in a ziplock but the rest is with me in my pockets.
  9. I have become a predominantly Z-Man user as of late myself for this reason. The floating action seems to work for me.
  10. Man I dream of dumping that $100 a month cable TV. I am just not extremely tech savvy on the TV stuff. This thread has motivated me to get back to dumping the waste of money. They show the same movies over and over and the rest of the TV programming with very few exceptions is garbage. Who in their sane mind would watch the Kardashians or want your kids to see the PC correct version of everything such as Sesame Street. Thanks for the motivation.
  11. Texas here as well. I agree with others here location of bass, placement of bait, action of the bait, presentation of the bait induced by the fisherman, and conditions, such as water color, water temp, weather are all more important. I cant say that red is a great color or not. I have never really had to go for a red as usually I have some color that will produce. Of course some really like the wild colors but they just haven't produced for me. Like bubblegum color never worked for me. My experience is stick to your more natural colors. For year around use green pumpkin is extremely hard to beat or a variation of it say green pumpkin with red or black flake. Watermelon color works pretty much the same but maybe not as good as green pumpkin for me. All but winter and even sometimes in winter I have had success with white or white and chartreuse spinnerbaits. 3/8 oz is a decent middle ground starting point. The Fire Tiger colored baits are very popular as well during the spring time. As you can see none of these are dominantly red in color. Not saying red doesn't work but beginning I would want a more universal color if I was just starting to build my arsenal. BTW Welcome to the forums.
  12. Netbait Paca Craws have been my favorite craw. I tried the Rage Craws and they do have good action on the end of the pinchers they go crazy. I hadn't looked at the Culprit Creature Craw but watching this video has me wanting to try them.
  13. Now I am confused. Do what? How the heck... I don't get it how do you turn back into traffic and not be drinking or somewhat impaired? To me this is like driving on the highway you don't maintain speed, and you sure don't turn into on coming traffic, if you see a possible car riding the center line. Something doesn't sound right about this. This is very sad.

My more used tubes. I like the really soft baits, I stay away from the double dipped ones. I like the Storm brand they are very pliable. Havoc ones work good flipping they have a solid nose and really work good with the slim and smooth profile dropping in cover. The BPS tubes seem to hold up good and work well in all different presentations. As others have said you can use tubes T rigged, all types of Jigs, C rigged, etc etc
  15. Almost but not really 1/2 of a Molix Supernato Beetle.
  16. 36 is better for my boat. It's not a Pelican but it's the same style. Mine is the Uncle Buck's Pond Prowler.
  17. We now know the bait monkey has been around a looonnnggg time. We also know he will not let up no matter how much you purchase. I don't feel sad for the guy unless it cost him family or he deprived his family over his addiction. If he provided for his family and did so responsibly I'm glad he got to do what he wanted.
  18. Interesting reply's. The post wasn't meant to be a start of a "argument". I only wanted discussion on the topic. I think Team9nine is doing something like what I was wondering, if there was some calculation for determining the balance of say a stack of rods. I understand the variations of every manufacturer and the variables of different styles of parts used on them. But it would be helpful if there was a way, something like Team9nine has worked out for him, that would work for generally speaking everyone. I would think there should be a way to calculate maybe not "the" perfect balanced rod for everyone but there should be some calculation that would tell you if you say plugged in a reel weight, and maybe a few specs of the rod. Like length, general material, and type of grip of the rod in question. Maybe it could spit out how neutral the rod would be. Maybe a measurement or distance of the fulcrum from the butt of the handle. This would give you a point to know OK the rod with this measurement to me feels tip heavy or what ever. A baseline so to speak. Well you would then know combinations that the fulcrum was shorter would be helping or hurting what ever it was you liked your rods to be. You could actually get some precision changes like if you built custom rods and the guy buying says I want just a fraction more tip weight there would actually be a way the builder could possibly tweak the rod to give the customer what he wanted and it could be measured and shown to the customer it was actually a fraction heavier. Or when buying a new rod and you wanted one slightly different than your current rod. You would actually have a tool that you could verify to some degree it was what you are wanting. Especially ordering online. As has been said everyone has their own "feel" so posts by 20 members of the forum wont do the newer guy a lot of assistance in that department since there is no measurement its all feel. Just something I was running through my head as I was reading responses to posts and I saw "balance" mentioned a few times. And almost every Pro talking about his rod mentions the almighty "balance". I think Ill start a post on backbone next. Because its the next favorite word of every Pro when discussing the rod he is using. Of course that is all subjective as heck to. Seriously in this day and age with all the technology its just a matter of time I think. It could be done. I am sure it will never be the ticket for a hardcore guy, that 2% of all fishermen, but something like this would sure help the 70%+ newer guys to the sport. Considering they are new and really don't have much knowledge a tool that would get them close so they at least had an ballpark idea of what a decent balance is before buying might be useful. Then again we could just throw any rod we don't like in the trash and hunt n peck till we find that magic rod feel as if we live in the 1800s. Thanks for the responses.

The first two pics you just posted look like something I'd love to have at my disposal. very nice work. Do you sell them? I am guessing your upload limit was hit for the day?
  20. I hear talk of balance on rods but much of it I see is a personal feel not so much a calculation. I know some pro is going to say this or that is a perfect combo well balanced etc but by what measuring device is this determined. So what I want to know is is there a mathematical calculation to determine the correct balance? Is there no true industry standard way to measure this? Thanks
  21. I have read this before, but I discount it as not exactly true from my experience. Unless after you cast the lure each time you grab your damp rag of some sort or canvas gloves and do the same exact process as you retrieve your bait. Otherwise guess what the next cast it is just like you never did it to start with. Yes you don't want the line limp on the reel but every stinking inch of it doesn't have to be like a banjo string. It wont stay that snug even if you do initially put it on that tight. I use braid mostly and get color on my hands as well with new line mainly. It quits doing it as bad as time goes by.
  22. Its just getting exciting. Don't know how we will know who wins but the argument is one of the better ones I have seen here.
  23. With the way the world/schools/parents have gone its a miracle any kid can read and understand directions, spell, or work a basic math problem. I see the same type of issues with kids tattin their body into oblivion but cant write a sentence and then wonder why I don't want them as my employee. Someone got their priorities mixed up. First you get educated then you can realize the implications of making a canvas or a pin cushion of your body. Nothing makes me take my business elsewhere faster than a waiter/waitress thinking he/she is going to serve my food with steel stuck all through her/his face, arms and God knows where else. I see them playing with the metal then chewing the ink pen then they think they are touching my plate. Nope go get educated on germs. I am out of there. The same applies for sponsorship. Why would any reputable company want you speaking for them if you cant be understood, Speaking clearly, being able to write properly, looking presentable, and being reliable are very important along with knowing about fishing etc.. If your going to represent them and expect to be rewarded for it you need put the best business face you have on. Also never ever under estimate first impressions. Make that first one count you may never get a second look.
