Daiwa Lexa 3000 and St. Croix Avid 7' MH Fast. That should put you just a fuzz over $300 but it will get the job done....

Fly Fishing Set Up
I am thinking of trying fly fishing. I had a set up when I was very young. I had the idea but never quite figured it out. Do you guys have a recommendation on a set up? I looking to target trout in a stream not to far from house that I had no idea existed until someone showed me this awesome spot. Thanks for any info.

Topwater Lures
If you are wanting to through down some cash on a topwater lure, I would start with the pop max from megabass. It's a pricey, work of art that catches fish.

No Need Really
I have a few things I don't fish but each time I go out I have a particular game plan in mind. I'd like to think everything I have, has a purpose and gets used. In reality though, I would guess that 1 out of 10 baits I have purchased are duds.

Finally Got My Nrx!!! Wohoooo!!!! (Pics)
Where I work our shipping department sends out parts in 7' and 8' cardboard rod tubes and they are as hard as bat. They are rated to withstand approx. 500lbs of pressure. We have a hard time cutting them with a circular saw. They are capped with sheet metal steel. As far as I know, they have never had one come back crushed or damaged. These tubes only cost a few cents more than the cheaper light weight ones. I don't understand why rod makers don't use them. One things for sure, I would be pulling my last few hairs out if I received that rod from FedEx. I hope you are able to get a replacement soon.

Outfitting A Tackle Backpack...
This is what I use...... Two Plano 4700's. One is for crankbaits and the other is for topwater. One Plano Spinnerbait box Two Plano 3750 boxes. One for terminal tackle (hooks, sinkers, leaders, etc) and one for inline spinnerbaits (mepps and roster tails). One falcon fto jerkbait box. . I don't think they make these anymore.... The lures get swapped out with other tackle boxes but this is the primary tackle items I carry. I also have a worm bag that I will carry from time to time but I also stuff 10 bags or so of soft plastic in the front pocket of my backpack. There is also a big top zippered pocket that I keep jigs and trailers in. The side pockets of the backpack contain pliers, a scale and braid cutters. I have been using this set up for about 8 years. It weigh a ton but I'm use to it.

St Croix Premier
If you fishing for fish that will be from bass to muskie, I would pick a MH Fast 6'6'' rod that feels comfortable and balances well with your reel. With that said, the Premier, as stated above, is a good, basic, no thrills, rod but it will serve for your purpose. Considering your applications, there is another rod that has yet to come out that may suit your needs.... The Fenwick Elite Tech Largemouth rods. They offer a 7'' 2 piece MH rod that would fit the bill. I like the Elite Tech Smallmouth casting rod I have in comparison. One other thing, if your going to fish for Muskie and Pike, at the minimum 20lb braid is in order, along with a heavy wire leader.

Alas, he was only half the man she had hoped for.....

Spinning Rod
The fenwick elite tech is a fantastic rod. They make a 6'9" ML that can be had for around $100 if you watch out for sales.

As a Pacer fan, man this stinks. He is a great player and great man off the court. I hope to see him back soon.

Best Vocalist Thread
There are too many to mention but here are a few.... Steve Perry Bono (not a fan but his voice has been amazing since day one and still good today) Brent Smith from Shinedown. I heard some of their music and I thought to myself, just another band. They're good but I was not blown away until I saw this..... And my favorite..... David Grohl for just the cool factor and that fact he loves is fans... How many guys can sing, play guitar and chew gum

What Do You Use More Often: Creature/crawfish Bait Or Worm/lizard?
I fish worms and lizards about 80% of the time when it comes to soft plastic. That combo just seems to work for me.

Best Tackle Storage System For Shore Fishing
I picked up a Columbia Backpack for my daughter for school yesterday. It was $30. The Columbia Outlet Stores had them 50% off plus an additional 20%. It is waterproof, tear resistant, and has a lifetime guarantee. It looked tough as nails. I was tempted to pick one up for myself. They had several models that would be perfect for fishing but as usual, I don't need it.....

New V. Old Curado
Just to fill a hole in my head, I wish Shimano would come back out with a reel like this (gear ratio wise), slow and easy..... This reel is not mine by the way. I just like this pic.

Yo Zuri Lures
I have a couple of the Yo Zuri jerk baits. I could not tell you which series they are from but they feel like a softer harden plastic. They do catch fish and have unique twitching action that I have not seen in other baits.

Best Tackle Storage System For Shore Fishing
I have a Jansport Day hiker backpack that holds 3 double side plano boxes, a spinner bait box, a jerkbait box, a terminal tackle box, a box of rooster tails and the front two compartments hold hooks and jigs. It's big, heavy and I love it. It also has a lifetime warranty. I have also tried a spider wire shoulder bag but when I walk the bank with my rods it always slip off my shoulder.

Dsg Sales Still Going On
My local DSG has nothing on sale right now and it seems they have been reluctant to restock much of anything. I have also not seen any new reels or rods come in. They use to have an awesome fishing department. It seems to be going down hill.

New V. Old Curado
I have the Curado G and it is good work horse reel. I only paid $80 for mine. But with the price you stated above, I would buy the Curado I.
