  1. The Zoom 10.5in Ol Monster worm gets my vote or any monster bait for that matter. Bigger baits (swimbaits, ect.) and heavy long rods seem to be the new thing (again).

I love the Fat Ika. I fish my weightless backwards and with a 5/0 G-Lock Gamakatsu hook. My favorite color is black with blue flake. I fish like a Senko but I have also had success fishing it like a jig, just bouncing it off the bottom. I guess it just depends on how the fish are biting.
  3. I like the Gander Mountain by me. It has a good selection and nice staff to go with it. The only bad thing is that they are expensive. I can get most of the stuff I fish with at Dicks at a much cheaper price but there genearally is no one working in the fishing department at Dicks. When I want real customer service I go to Gander Mountain and my local tackle shop but the best prices I go to Dicks.
  4. I have the MBR 783 GLX and it is sort of like a magic wand. It's extremely light and sensitive. I works great for soft plastic and crankbaits upto 1/2oz. I have tried it for light jigs but prefer my BCR 803 GLX for that applications. I have also used it for spinnerbaits as well but it's overkill. I wouldn't consider it a good rod for Carolina Rigs the MBR844C is better suited for that application. I would say it would make a great general purpose rod.
  5. Living here in Indy you would think that she was just another driver until you go to a race or especially carb day. She always has the longest line for autographs and the largest amount of fans. She used and did what she could to promote a sport that was losing fans. With Indy Car and Champ combining, some of the attention will probably fade. Lets face it, she may not be the best driver but she is a good one.
  6. I live close to several ponds where I can use a john boat or fish from the bank but I will not be going on to many long trips this year to fish. Several people I fish with have cut back on their travel to major lakes this year. They just can't afford it. One guy I work with said his bass club is going to three man teams instead of two during tournaments. Most of the guys have large diesel trucks that get about 10 miles to the gallon and can't afford to spend about $150 bucks on gas for one day of fishing.
  7. I use them just about anytime. Like today, it was cold this moring and foggy but changed to sunshine and warm temps. I bagged over 15 fish in about 5 hours on 6 black with blue flake senkos. But on a side note I also caught a few on a 6in junebug Dinger. Go figure. I also tried some Zoom Lizards, a Culprit 7.5in worm, and a GYCB hula grub with no success.
  8. I too have the Premier and I have been debating on taking it back. It makes a grinding noise towards the end of the cast. I put a drop of oil on the spool spool shaft, one on the break side of the spool, and I then wiped the spool with a lint free cloth. The noise is gone but now it will backlash frequently and the breaks seem to make little difference. I also noticed that the drag is not all it is made up to be. It works well for the small ones but I hooked a 5lb+ LM earlier this week and it seemed rough on the retrieve. With all the bad said, it casts well and feels smooth and light as a feather. If I take it back I might end up with the Core or another Daiwa Zillion. I'm not sure what to do just yet. I might fish it another week and see what happens.
  9. I have had four Quantums in the past three years. I had a Tour Edition Baitcaster, 2 Energy Pti-a 20 spinning reels and Shaw Grigsby combo from Dicks. The Tour Edition worked great for about a year and then one of the drag washers cracked. One of the Energy pti-a anti reverse stopped working properly and the other I think I just wore out. Both after of them went down after about two years of use. They both worked well and were serviced once. As for the combo, I sold it to a buddy and he says is still working great (go figure). I was lucky though, the place where I purchased them were able to exchange them for me. I have decided to stay away from Quantum.
  10. That's funny. I had to pull this one out of the archives. Don't get me wrong, I love cats.
  11. I have a high speed Zillion and love it so far. Great reel.
  12. I didn't know the bait monkey could cause amnesia. I will have to save that one for my wife when the next box from Tackle Warehouse arrives.
  13. For Senkos I like the G.Loomis BCR 803.
  14. Craftsman has always been my favorite. For the average household (at home mechanic) they're great but I would only buy them in large bulk sets. Not in small individuals sets. If you keep your eyes open, they will have some sets around Christmas for 1/2 price. As far as cordless tools go I like Crastman but I like DeWalt better and again buy the largest set you can afford that comes with the most batteries. Also, a word of advice on the batteries....Dont leave the batteries on the chargers, charge when needed. It drains the life way faster than normal use, even if it states that the batteries has no memory. I have quick charger that will charge a battery in less than 15mins. I have had the current batteries I got with my set for 7 years and they still last for about 4-8 hours of normal use.
  15. I cut coupons and buy the local zoo coupon book. The zoo coupon book cost about $25 but it has lots of useful coupons in it, like gas $48 in gas coupons. I also buy a lot of tackle a Dicks when they have a sale. Like this week they had Rapalas, Gamakatzu, and most soft plastic 20%. They also have a spend $50 and get $10 off coupon in the Indiana DNR book. So I was able to pick up some Rapala DT for $4.48 and some Senkos for $3.84 a pack.
  16. Got a favorite? What do you like or dislike about these reels? Can you compare any to another? Steez vs. Core Chronarch MG vs. Revo Premier Thanks for any thoughts.....
  17. Curado, Revo Premier (for now) Where's the Daiwa Zillion? One of the best workhorse reels out there.
  18. I caught a few last year but it is not a go to bait for me. I don't tend to have the best luck with them. I have tried several colors and presentations.
  19. The most I have ever spent on a lure was a Megabass Swimbait. It costs me $30 shipped on ebay. The regular retail on this lure is $65. As far as crankbaits go $15.
  20. I too fish the DT hula grub with a TruTungsten Jig head. I like the Weed Wacker the best. My only complaint with these jig head is that the wire for the hook is not as strong as I would like. I have had a few break on me.
  21. I think Jarden owns them now, along What all does Jarden own now? Also, Micro mentioned this offer is on hold. How can you put a rebate offer on hold? I too want my cash.
  22. Upon arriving at a Disney World hotel in Florida, you ask your family, "OK, who wants to go fishing?"
  23. WOW That's a big fish. What is the lure above that it was caught on?
  24. I like them but they are expensive. I think the main benifit to using them is the obviously the size.
  25. I sent mine in a month ago and nothing yet. I did call with a question regarding Trilene Fluorocarbon's rebate and the call center lady said that they are overwhelmed with rebates. I also sent a rebate form back in Feb. to them for some baits and I got my money in 5 days. So maybe they're just that busy.
