Irritating Sales Technique
If it cost $6 to get one for free, the least they could do is have the T-Shirt say Shimano........ ;D ;D ;D Just joking This is sort of like Shimano's free Satelite service, granted they do a fantastic job, but they no longer give free shipping labels with the cleaning coupons and it cost you $10 to get the reel shipped back to you. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/authorized_warranty.download.-mainParsys-000110-downloadFile.html/Reel%20Repair%20Request%20Form_08.pdf

RIP, George!!
George Carlin is one my personal heroes. I look at his comedy this way..... You'll laugh until he makes you think. I saw him in concert years ago. He was fantastic. I will miss him. :'(

I book I would highly recommend...............
From time to time a book comes along that changes the way you look at the world, who we are, and how we live our lives. Several years I ago I read such a book and I have recently found it once again. It is called "Cry, the Beloved Country." It was written in 1948 and is centered around life at that time in South Africa. If you like to read and have the time, I would highly recommend giving this book a chance. Here is a small piece of it. Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be too moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much.

Very Cool.... My niece had Sagan at Ithica. She said that he had the unique ability to make the large things very small, even people.

LBH making his deliveries!!!!!!
How far do you have to go to deliver a sewing machine? I guess you have to go all the way down the hill. ;D ;D ;D And it took three police officers to explain how far to back up..... Just joking..... My uncle worked for UPS all his life and he said only two things will stop a UPS driver, death and Hurricanes and they don't have Hurricanes in Dubois, PA only Nittany Lions (his jokes are as bad as mine).

Shimano's Satelite Service..........
I have had a Shimano Calais for about a 18 months and just a few weeks ago I finally received my clean and lube coupons. It is a long story on why it took so long, from which I will spare you, but it does have a happy ending. I sent this reel out three weeks ago and finally got it back today. It may have taken a while but it was worth it. This reel feels way better than it did out of the box and it was supper smooth to begin with. Words can't describe how well it casts and just how supper smooth it is on the retrieve. They replaced 3 bearings, which on the invoice they had different part numbers than on the schematics, and they also replaced the drag washer. Awesome service.... I justed wanted share how happy I was with the reel and to give a big thank you to the guys at Shimano (Irvine, CA).

Camping
I don't get to camp much anymore, about once a year. When we do go, it's always in a tent. But as a kid growing up, I think we camped in just about everything and traveled all over. My parents belonged to somekind of camper club where we could stay in just about any campgrounds for cheap. I sure do miss those days.

Give Up One?
I gave up hunting several years ago. As others have stated, to wet, to cold and to dull. It just doesn't give me the rush it use to. If I take it up again, I think I will stick to a bow. Funny story though and what caused me to quit> The last time I went hunting I went with my brothter-in-law. He was into using all the latest scents, gear, ect. He sprayed himself down with everything you can think of. I got a kick out of it. He and his buddies that came with us later sat in tree stands, drank beer, smoked some cigs, and basically froze to death all day. None of us even got a shot off. I couldn't believe all the scents and then they would smoke and drink. . At least nobody got hurt.

Yo Zuri Ultrasoft....you've let me down
I am at work currently but I will post a pic later. Each of the bottles I have were free give aways from tournaments or fishing expos. The grey bottle I have had for quite some time. It is not a spray but a drip bottle and it has only been used on spinning gear. I like the pump better. The drip bottle would cause the solution to run when it was put on. I hardly ever used it.

Yo Zuri Ultrasoft....you've let me down
I thought it might be the rag, maybe a chemical or something causing a reaction. But I checked the manufacture's package, it states that it is both lint and chemical free. We use these same rags at work to wipe of print heads and laser housings, just in case. If I have time and don't hold me to it, I will see if I can reproduce this and post some pics. I have three bottles of this line conditioner, one of which is the original stuff in the gray bottle (pre-KVD). I will use some of each for a comparison.

Yo Zuri Ultrasoft....you've let me down
I've got your back, buddy. Earlier in the thread I addressed that statement, but again: Ridiculous! 8-) Sorry guys, I am going to stand by my statement that I over applied the KVD line conditioner to some 12lb Yo-Zuri U.S. and it caused the line to be brittle. I have been using this line conditioner for the past 3 years and I usually only use a couple of pumps of the spray the night before fishing. The reel I used, just in case, was a Curado 201BSF which I use for crankbaits. I usually use the regular Yo-Zuri (10lb) on this reel but I wanted to try some of the US in the 12lb since it was so highly recommended and I love the 6lb on my spinning gear. Where I made my mistake was I applied it this time by spraying a lint free cloth, applying it as I spooled the reel and then spraying a pump or two on line when I was done spoolling the line. The reel set unused for about a month and as part of my routine, I sprayed it again the night before. I tried fishing with this line but it was down right crispy. This is the part that makes me think it is the line conditioner. I used the rest of the spool on a Calais 201A with no line conditiner and it performed perfectly. Love this line.... I had previously this year applied KVD line conditioner to some 15lb Trilene Professional Fluorocarbon using the same method (rag and pumping some on after spooling) and had the same results but had nothing to compare it to. So I just thought I had a bad spool. I have since just been spraying it on my line as needed the night before I fish. I have had no issues what so ever. As matter of fact, I respooled my Core last night with some 12lb Trilene Fluorocarbon and sprayed some KVD line conditioner on it after I spooled it. This moring it casted like a dream.

Ganger Mtn. sucks IMHO.
When it comes to rods and reels their selection to me is poor but it is a step up from Dicks. The service at the north side Indianapolis store is pretty good. Most of the guys that work there are old time fisherman that know their stuff. When it comes to tackle they have good selection but not great. My only big problem with them is "price". They are more expensive than just about anybody and when asked if they would match advertised prices from competitors, the manager laughed as though I was joking. They seem to carry just enough (quantity) equipment and tackle to keep them busy and that's about it.

Warranty on BPS Johnny Morris rods?
I too took one of these rods (7' M Casting) back. The reel seet started to make a creeking sound under a heavy load but worse the guides started to come out of the wraps. I repaired 3 but when the 4th came out while I was out fishing, I decided to take it back. I had this rod for just about a year. When I got to the store, they had one on the rack but it to had 1 guide that was loose and on the way out. So I decided to exchange it for something else. Problem was I did not have my reciept and I payed $159 for it. All they would do is give me a credit for the "90 day low price" which I think was $109. At the current time the price was marked $159. They were also able to look up what I payed for it on my credit card and on my bonus points but $109 was all I could get. I left there mad but I did come home with a lighter wallet and a Loomis crankbait rod which has been by far a better rod.

Revo Winch?
Anybody pick one of these up yet? My wife was talking about getting me a reel for Father's Day but she was not quite sure what to get. I gave her some suggestions but I thought I would give another Revo a try. So we made a trip to my local tackle shop and they had not received any yet. Looks like I will have to order one online. Just wanted to here any thoughts or reviews on this reel. Thanks
