  1. I am not positve but I might suspect that the line conditioner had something to do with it. I used some of the KVD line conditioner on several types of line and on some if I put to much on, it causes the line to become brittle. I have not had that happen to the Ultra-Soft yet. It has happend to me on the regular Hybrid and some Trilene Professional Fluorocarbon. I would give it another try without the KVD Line Conditioner.
  2. I have to go with smallmouth. I hooked a 4lb last year and thought I had largemouth at least twice that size on the line. The fish would just not stop fighting.
  3. Just a heads up, I finally figured out that a major appliance or vacuum, ect. is not a cool gift for most women, including my wife. If I were to get a tool or something I could use around the house that was top of the line, I would give my wife a big thank you but instead I usually get a cool something gadget that collects dust like a dart board, universal remote or a T-shirt. I am not venting, I just thought she would think it was cool to have a Dyson. She just took our old broke down Hoover out to the trash, put the new one in closet and never said a word. I did get a chance to take this $500 marvel for a test drive yesterday and let me tell you this thing sucks just as hard as my garage shop vac. I don't know if its worth $500 bucks but I never knew how dirty my carpet was until I bought one of these things.
  4. I had a 1997 Ford Ranger. I have to admit, it was not much of a truck but it was reliable transportation. I put just over 100,000 miles on it in 6 years and never had a bit of trouble. I was warned by the guy who put my spray in liner (Rhino knockoff but just as good) in that this truck will rust out on the bottom if the water in the bed does not drain properly and evenly. He refused to install plastic liners in these trucks because he claimed they held to much water. Don't know if any of this is true but I never saw one bit of rust on mine.
  5. I caught a great HBO documentary on David McCullough the other day. If you have read any of his work (1776, Truman, John Adams, ect.), the documentary is excellent and gives some informative insite to this Pulitzer Prize winning author. I would highly recommend checking it out.
  6. My favorite is anything topwater but I recently purchased a Meagabass Orca and caught a nice 3lb on my first cast. The hit that bass put on this lure was just plain fun. The Orca is a weird bait though. It sort of acts like a dead fish on it's side with a hinged tail at the back. You can fish thing in a walk-the-dog action or burn it like a buzzbait.
  7. I have a couple St. Croix Avid spinning rods that I picked up for $65 each. I have to find any rod in that price range that can compare to them. I can get that lucky again someday.
  8. Why?????????????? ;D And how was it done?

    Printing......
  10. Any of the dark Senko colors will work but I prefer the Black with blue flake and the Watermelon/GreenPumpkin Laminate.

I don't really have a panic box. I just tend to stick with what works at the time and expand beyond that if necassary just for the fun of it.
  12. For me it had to be the Heddon beer can lures. I had several of them and thought I will never catch a single fish on these things but once in a while I would. It was just plain fun....
  13. I wish I had that much time on my hands. That was too cool.
  14. Very nice.... Can't wait to see the rods. I like the red Zillion but I hope Daiwa brings the crazy cranker to the US.
  15. I grow tomatoes every year in my garden and we use a mix of composted manure (cheap stuff at Lowes) and free coffee grounds from Starbucks. I usually get about 5-10lbs a week from them. I would guess I have put out 300lbs or more of coffee grounds around the house in the last five years. mmmmm..... Coffeematoes....
  16. I would have to go with the Zillion.
  17. I can testify to that. I have had one Tour Edition Baitcaster and 2 Energy 20Pti-a spinning reels. All of them performed well and I really enjoyed using them but all 3 died after 18 months (or less) of use.
  18. The BSR803 GLX would make for an amazing rod.
  19. My wife keeps telling me that but I don't listen. At least until I heard my son say it......
  20. You should try one of the printers I run a work. It costs $300-$500 per cartridge. I have been known to go through 3 or 4 a day.
  21. How about a Volvo C30. It's boxie but good.....
  22. Don't hold me to all of this...... Back in 2000 I was working for a print shop that did several brochures for Ford and one them was a 64 pager that had complete details on how a British Ford engineer had made a water based fuel cell engine. The idea was to put two of these engines into a car. The engine was tested and used successfully according to the brochure. The engine was designed and made in the Ford engineer's home workshop. The day before the brochure was to go out, we were told to stop production and not to send. I was later sent an email from a coworker about an automotive engineer whose home and workshop had been destroyed by a bomb. He and his family all died in the explosion. After reading the brochure again, it was the same engineer whom we had printed the brochure for. A few days later I was sent another email from the same coworker with an article that stated that it was not a bomb but a gas explolsion that caused the destruction. Oddly enough, the first article had mentioned that the only explosive chemicals near the home were in his workshop and that the house was all electric. It always made me wonder if this guy was killed for his invention, even if it may or may not have worked.
  23. Another vote for the St. Croix Avid.
  24. My personal best was this year May 23. I caught my first double digit largemouth. It weighed in at 10lb 2oz but by the length I thought it was heavier (around 28in). I caught it on a Zoom lizard, T-rigged with a 3/16oz LEAD bullet weight. I was using a Shimano Stradic 2500 with 10lb Yozuri Hybrid on a 6'8'' St.Croix Avid M X-Fast.
  25. For me this year it has been 1. Zoom Lizards 2. 5in Senkos 3. Fat Ika 4. Rapala DT's
