  1. 4/0 EWG from Gamakatsu is my go to for 5 in Senkos but the G Lock I do use on a occasion. I find it works best with Fat Ikas and Lizards.
  2. Sounds like the perfect size. I have a 6' light and a 6' med light St. Croix avid. both have 1000 Stradics. I love these set ups. They are just fun to fish. I will also use 2500 on the ML as well when I want to through something a bit heavier.
  3. Baitcaster> 12lb Trilene 100% FC Spinning> 6lb Trilene 100% FC or Yo Zuri Hybrid 6lb
  4. I have been using Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon. I bought some big spools years ago and it is still fantastic. I use 12 lb on baitcasters and 6lb on spinning tackle. It is a good balanced line. It has good sensitivity but not great. It has a little stretch but not a lot. Great knot strength (just wet the knot before hand). Casting is fantastic. This line also tends to last longer than most. Memory is average but it can be greatly improved with KVD line conditioner. One other FC I would recommend is Seaguar Invisx. Great line but it is stretchy and does not last as long. It seems to work better, for me, on my heavy rods rather on my medium and med heavy rods when it comes to setting the hook. I have never been a big fan of braid.
  5. I like the St.Croix spinning rods but have not been a fan of their casting rods. I can't say why, just a personal preference. As far as your question goes, if you are throwing something around a 1/2 ounce into some coverage I would go with the MBR844C. It is just a great all around rod. My personal favorite is the GLX 803C jig and worm rod.
  6. I have been away for quite sometime and recently have decided to get back into fishing and the forum for that matter. Anyway, I have come across a deal for a Daiwa Cielo rod MH Crankbait Rod for $65 and wanted to know your guys thoughts on it. It sounds like a good deal and it appears to be a solid rod but I have been fooled before. Thanks for your input. Just on a side note. I also have picked up a Shimano Curado 201 G6 for $80 that I am going to put with it. >>> The bait monkey has never left me.....
  7. Do you have a new go to lure for this year? For me personally, I have been sticking to the same old stuff> Lucky Craft crank baits, Senkos, and Zoom Lizards
  8. I saw this on ebay today and thought if I had money to burn (~ $500,000), this would be awesome. http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=worldclassdriving
  9. Out of the rods I own the Loomis BCR803 GLX is hands down the most sensitive rod I have ever fished.
  10. I am wondering if they will ever find the owner of this tooth. There actually is a large search going on in the Sea of Cortez for a megalodon (70ft prehistoric shark). "I think I need a bigger boat"
  11. 12lb would be my choice. I personally like 12lb Trilene Professional Flourocarbon for worm fishing.
  12. I have the Elite Tech Rig N' Stick and it's a nice rod for the money. For $100, it's a steal. There are sort of heavy compared to some rods but not bad. I would put the sensitivity a small step above the St. Croix Avid.
  13. Check this out.... Just plain crazy.. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-oakland-paroleside24-2009mar24,0,2113362.story
  14. I like on the front but for saltwater that might be a different story. If you have a large fish on and you're trying to tire the fish out, the rear drag comes in handy. Just seems easier to adjust.
  15. I have to say the Zillion. It's a workhorse of a reel.
  16. I had 2 energy pti-a 20s for about a year and half. They both worked great but both at about the same time developed problems. I thought I had one of greatest reels of all time when I fished them. They both felt great, smooth and built like a tank. But in the end, maybe I fished them to hard. They both had problems with the bail and when I reeled in a bait quickly and tried to stop, the reels would just keep spinning and then lock up. I would test out the ones you're looking at and spin the reels quickly and see if they stop.

My wife and I both went to see it and liked it. It broke away from the comic book hero stupidity. I'll admit the blue guy (Dr.Manhattan) took some getting use to but Roarshak was very cool. I still can't believe that's the guy from the Bad News Bears and Breaking away. As others have stated, don't take the kids to see this show. It is from the same director as Sin City and 300. The show we were at had parents walking out but other than that people cheared and cringed through the whole movie. Most people I have talked to have seen this movie more than twice and the movie theater we went to was sold out on 4 screens upto 11:00.
  18. I was hoping T.O. would go someplace where he would be forgotten. I guess since he went to the Bills that's even better. ;D
  19. Did not care for this line at all. I bought two spools of it last year and put it on two different reels. It did not cast well and it also seemed to absorb lots of water causing the line to swell. It would then cause it to bite into the rest of the line on the spool. I would not recommend it.
  20. The Zillion. Fast, smooth retrieve.
  21. I too had the same issue with a Revo Premier. I was amazing when I first got it but after fishing it for a short time it didn't seem to matter where I set the breaks I always got the same amount of breaking. Sometimes it worked fine then I would get constant backlashes. It made no difference where I set the breaks/cast control or the weight of the lure, it always made a whining sound. I sent it back to be repaired and it came back with the same issues plus it looked as if it had been cleaned but not relubed. Long story short, I ended up taking it back.
  22. Lots of questions to ask before I could offer any suggestions. 1. How old are you? 2. Do you have access to a gym with weights, bikes, track, etc.? 3. How many times a week can you workout? 4. What type of diet? Muscle gain, weight loss, or cardio health? Also, if you are over 40 and are 20-30lb over weight it might be a good idea to see a doctor for a physical and blood work (blood sugar and cholestorol). If both of these are bad you might be limited to certain foods and types of exercise.
  23. G. Loomis BCR803GLX Shimano Core 12lb Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon 5in Senko Black with Blue Flake
  24. I voted Shimano but they both make a great products and few dogs for that matter.
  25. There was a booth that did this last year. They had Lucky Craft lures for $15.99 on sale originally $20. He also had a few bargain bens with Mann's -1 and Storm cranks for $4.00. Not for sure but he also looked like he was selling used reels as new. Most people left his booth laughing . One other thing he would do is have his buddy dress in a pro angler shirt (one with lots of decals) and act like he was selling him some reels. I'll be going March 1st. I'll check to see if it's the same guy from last year.
