  1. I love catching smallies. They put up one of the best fights. My personal best was a 4lb at my local honey hole but favorite was a 2lb that I caught with a Mepps inline spinnerbait in about one foot water in a really fast moving section of White River here in Indiana.
  2. If I can catch one big, my day is complete. I'd rather spend all day in search of a monster than catch a bunch of dinks. I guess I'm still looking for that trophy bass I have always wanted.
  3. I'll the second St. Croix Avid. I have AS60MLF and it is great for weightless 4in Senkos, Mepps inline spinnerbaits and light weight cranks. I also setup it for a bobber every now and then. It is just a fun rod to fish.
  4. I read it. I just thought it was a first glance sort of thing. To tell the truth, I thought you might be stretching it a bit. Sorry. If it compares to the Steez, that is one awesome rod. I will have to pick one up before next season.
  5. I wanted to see if this works and to share a few photos.
  6. It's not the amount of bearings, it's the quality. Check out these articles. http://www.tackletour.com/articlebearings101.html http://www.tackletour.com/articlebearings201.html http://www.tackletour.com/articlebearings301.html
  7. Very Nice.... How would you compare it to other rods you own? Would it be on pair with a St. Croix Avid or a Loomis IMX?
  8. I do like buying new equipment but I don't think I could ever call it shopping. If I had $500 right now and somebody said "Would like to buy a Loomis IMX and new Shimano reel or would you rather spend it on taking the family and the boat out and staying in the cabin for a week." I think I would much rather go fishing than SHOPPING.
  9. Nice. Is that an Evinrude motor? Looks like a powerful setup. It'll be great for the flats.
  10. $300 for a lure. Cool looking but I'd rather use live bait that looks just like it. I could probably catch it with a fly rod set up for free.
  11. For me it usually is a jig but I have had a hard time getting results with X-rap jerkbait/slashbait. Jigs sometimes take more patients than I have.
  12. I like to use Mepps. The black furry has to be my favorite. I also like to use the Sonic Roster Tails but they are getting hard to find.
  13. 24 has to be favorite. 30 Rock has given me a few laughs. It might be my new favorite if 24 fizzles out.
  14. Still no luck with these things. I have been fishing them no differently than any other jig I use. I have been catching fish on other jigs but not this one. Any advice would be great, thanks.
  15. Here in Indiana it is $17 not to long ago it was $4. It's robbery. They take in 3 to 4 times as much money but yet complain that they have no money for things that were taken care of every year with less. I know things cost more but come on. I want to know were the money is being spent.
  16. My favorite from WC Fields when asked if he would like to have something to drink besides liquior. "Water, never touch the stuff. Fish @#$% in it." I'll let everyone figure out for themselves what the "@#$%" means.
  17. Dumb............
  18. I gave these a test today and they behave as adverstised but no fish yet. The paint is OK. I fished one for about 2 hours and it chipped a little. I hope to give them another try soon and have better results.
  19. Looks Yummy.......... ;D
  20. How would like to have one of those in your pond? Forget the Koi and Goldfish, go for a fish that will scare everybody in your backyard.
  21. What a huge catfish. I can't believe that rod took that much punishement. I wonder what type of lure or bait he was using? Great video.
  22. Great find. Enjoy those Loomis rods. There is nothing quite like them.
  23. I have two of the Energy Pti-a 20 spinning reels and they are awesome. I can't speak for their rods but I would highly recommend them.
  24. I'd go for some P-Line Flouroclear 8lb and a St. Croix Avid 6'6'' Med. Fast.
