Walk up song for baseball
Driven by Rush off the Different Stages Live Box Set. The guitar solos are awesome. I have heared used a few times over the years at our AAA team. Also, Seek and Destroy by Metallica used to be popular back in my day as a on deck song.

I have a small problem with......
I think selective harvesting is good management tool when done in moderation. A have a few select honey holes that are filled with small fish and I caught a few large ones that have appeared distented and sick. They have big eyes and small stomachs. For these fish, there needs to be a larger supply of food and growing room.

Ha ! I did catch the lake record Smallie !!!
Truely one the greatest fish I have ever seen. Great story and it is no doubt the same fish. I checked all the markings ;D.

"PEOPLE WHO FISH" TV SHOW

What would be your fav lure if you were a bass?
If I were a bass, probably something that looked, acted, and tasted like a crawfish.

worm colours
My new favorite (secret weapon this year) is a GYCB 5'' Senko in Smoke Pearl Blue Laminate #927. I like worms with flecks, just in case.
-
Which creature bait works the best for you?
I like Brush Hogs but GYCB Kreatures have been the best for me so far. I Texas rig them with 3/16 oz bullet weight and a 3/0 EWG hook.

Dicks sporting goods
Here is another little thing that Dick's has done to tick me off. Every year I go their to get my fishing license and if you spend $50 or more they would refund you the amount of your license. I went yesterday to renew and the new manager had never heard of this. I told him that this store has been doing this since it opened 8 years ago. I even showed him my old license that had the receipt stapled to it. He said that was the old days and we are here to make money not give fishermen free stuff. That is the last time I will ever go in there for fishing equipment. I also asked him if they sold a left handed Shimano Curado. He said "What's a Curado?" Training and knowledge=sales. I should have asked for a 1/4 pounder and fries.

Spinning Reels
You might try a Quantum Energy 20 Pti with some 8lb P-Line Floroclear.
-
What line do you prefer to use?
My favorites are 50lb PowerPro and P-line Floroclear 10lb or maybe Evolution 10lb. The new evolution line has done a great job so far.

baitcaster and braided line
I have someone I trust fill my reels now and he puts about 20-25% mono backing. He also under spools the reel just a little. I have been using 50lb PowerPro. I would not recommend anything lighter. I have also tried Sufix in 20lb on a spinning reel and 50lb on a baitcaster and a spinning reel. I love the 20lb but did not care for the 50lb, go figure.

Jerkbait recommendations please
The lucky craft pointer 100sp is my favorite. Colors I like> American Shad, Origianl Tennessee Shad, Misty Shad, Shell White, and Ghost Minnow. I like the X-raps but like Avid said, it is a dink magnet.

Questions for the Loomis enthusiast
To answer your questions I'll start by saying I have a BCR 803GLX, a MBR 783GLX and an MBR 844C IMX (just purchased in January). Is the GLX worth the $100 extra?> Maybe. As Avid said the GLX is more sensitive and lighter. Is really up to you. Personally, I will say yes it's worth it but depends again on your style and personal taste. As far as the BCR GLX series, it is a soft plastic fisherman's dream. IMHO, they are not ment for braid because of the recoil guides. Once you get past that, they are the most sensitive rods out there (again, a personal opinion). My BCR 803 is just a little more sensitve than the MBR 783. The tip seems alot faster and it loads differently when casting. Once you figure out how to load the rod correctly, it will out cast almost anything but this does take some getting used to. It is truely the best rod I have ever fished. Oh! Just in case I, when I was speaking of the tip being faster as it pertains to the way the rod loads, I was taking into account that both GLX rods I own have a 3 power (medium heavy). The loading will change with the length and power of the rod used. The BCR does has a distinct differencs and advantage in power and casting when it comes to soft plastic, especially senkos.

All hail the Zillion!!!
I put my Zillion 7.1 to the test today. I hooked up with 9 large mouths using a Lucky Craft Pointer. The reel performed perfectly. This is the reel for jerkbaits, IMHO. If you give your lure a little jerk or big jerk, it doesn't matter. You can get the slack out the line with this high speed reel quickly during a pause and there is little to no back play in the crank. I have paired this reel (with this forum's recommendation) with a G. Loomis MBR 844C and it is, so far, an excellent match. I have fished LC pointers a lot in the past with great success but with the Zillion 7.1 and MBR 844C it seemed effortless. It has changed my outlook on how to fish a jerkbaits. Question for those how own the Zillion 7.1> The manual states that it should have the spool bearings oiled after each use. Do you guys do this? It seems excessive.

What hook for a 6in Senko?
I usually use a 4/0 Gami EWG for 5in Senkos but I tried it today on a 6in Senko for the first time and I lost several fish. For some reason, I had trouble setting the hook. Is it me or do I need to step up to a larger sized hook?

Painting jigs?
Any advice on how to paint jigs that have been damaged? I have a bunch that have seen better days but I thought if I could paint them, I could keep a few that I have become attached to. I hate to say it, but I have been thinking of using my wife's fingernail polish and clearcoat finishing stuff. She has so many colors she has never used. She actually has a color called MATTE PUMPKIN WITH BLACK FLAKES (she got it for Halloween). Thanks again for everyones opinions.

Zillion or Chronarch
I have a Zillion and I tried it yesterday on a MF rod with some light weight lures and it just did not cast well. I put my Calais on the same rod using the same line and lure and it casted like a dream, no problems. With that said, I love my Zillion. It works best with 3/8oz lures or heavier. I have been using 50lb PowerPro on both reels and it has worked well so far.

Starting over. What gear to start over with?
Wow.......Sorry to here about your gear. If it were me, I would put a hard figure down and stay with in my budget. With that said, go for quality over quantity. Start with a general purpose spinning rod and reel and then a general purpose baitcaster set up. My choices would be: 6'6'' St.Croix MF Avid with a Shimano Stradic 2500 or a Quantum Energy Pti 20 7' G. Loomis MBR844 and either a Shimano Curado 200 or a Daiwa Zillion Fishing line would be P-Line Floroclear 8lb and 15lb Lures: 1)Rapala DT's 4, 6 and 10 Silver, Bass and Bluegill 2)Lucky Craft Pointer SP 100 Aurora Black, Tennesse Shad, and American Shad and Rapala X-Raps Silver and Green 3)Top Water>Lucky Craft Sammy any color and Zara Spook in Bass 4)Mann's Baby Bass -1 and a Lucky Craft Moonslaught SSR in Ghost Minnow 5)XCalibur XR 50 Rattle, any color 6)Soft Plastic> GYCB 5'' Senkos, Kreatures and Fat Ikas, any dark color, Zoom Lizards 6'' in Black blue tip, Yum Dinger Junebug, and maybe Reaction Inovations Sweet Beavers. I like Gamakatsu hooks 4/0 EWG. 7)Mepps spinning lures 1/8oz There are probably a lot of things I am missing but these are just personal choices. I hope it helps. In any case, I have a feeling the Bait Monkey is going to be banging down your door .

Curado CU200B for BC Newbie?
Great reel. Buy all they have at that price if you can. I have the 201 SF and out of all reels I own I would say it is the easiest to use. If you're learning a baitcaster, it would be an excellent choice.

steeze
I had a chance to play with a friend's Steez baitcaster and it is a very nice reel. However, I don't think it was worth the high price. I would rather purchase another Shimano Calais. This is not to say, it is not a sweet reel but personally I like the Calais better. If weight was an issue the Steez would be the best choice.

Best tuned cranks?
Lucky Craft have worked best for me. I also use Rapalas alot but only maybe one out of five actually run true.
