Terminator Baits
I wouldn't think that they are going away anytime soon. They have been under Rapala VMC for a few years now, unless something has changed. Maybe they are just rebranding. https://www.rapala.com/us_en/terminator

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
One reel came in. Still waiting on a new Steez and some other tackle to show up. I will say this, after going over this reel, it's like Shimano took a Bantam, the 20 Metanium, and few parts from the Antares 70A and came up with this. It doesn't exactly feel like a Metanium and it doesn't feel a Bantam. It's like all the things I like from Shimano rolled into one reel. To be honest, they could have tweeked the frame a little and called it something else. We will see what does on the water.

Best Spool Pin Remover Tool?
Stealing the pic from above. This one. I have two Calcutta 251s that had the bushing on the spool. I also replaced them on few reels over the years for people but didn't use the tool. I used pliers instead, which I know is a bad idea. I don't have the pin removal tool but never had this bearing go bad on any of my reels. I was curious if it was worth undertaking and replacing/upgrading this bearing. I wanted to know what the benefit might be.

Best Spool Pin Remover Tool?
So what is the benefit of upgrading this bearing? I swapped one that had a bushing years ago and didn't feel much of anything in an improvement.

Favorite crankbait around light/moderate weeds
A square bill in grass? I would punt and use a lipless but I have had success with three smaller square bills in grass, the Megabass Griffon MRX BFS, the Shimano Tiny Macbeth, and the Megabass Super Z-2. These bait still pick up grass but they don't get hung up as much. Another that use to be good is the Lucky Craft Flatside Mini.

Lithium battery question
I just used my LiTime 100A battery for the first time. I have a 55lb thrust GPS Motor Guide. I fished for about 6 hours in heavy wind and used it the whole time I was out, especially the spot lock. I only used 25% of the battery. My previous lead acid batteries might not last a full 8 hours for me. I have been using a NOCO 10AH charger. Works great. I even used it to bring an old battery back to life.

Simple FFS Yes/No question
I do not have it yet but have been out on three boats that did. Two of three were older, experienced anglers (one was 75+ years old), these guys knew how to use it and were winning with it. They would look for cover on the screen, watch their bait, fish it and the fish magically start coming out to bite. It was not easy to fish this way. You needed to know what bait to throw and at what depth. The other was a 30 something guy that just used it to chase fish. This was not fun to say the least. Every tournament I competed in last year was not only won with FFS but pretty much every money spot as well. The technology I think is here to stay. One complaint with it, is that it makes the meat collectors better at what they do. One lake I fish has guys keeping everything they catch and no one does anything about it. These fish are then cut up and used for fish fillets on food trucks and at diners. You think that is tilapia you are getting, think again..... Sorry for the gripe.

Prespawn lures?
In order for the most part Megabass 110 and 110 jr+1 Alabama Rig Finesse Jig in shallow water, football jig deep - something with red or orange Crankbait 6-8ft - OSP Evoke 2.0 Spinnerbait - OSP High Pitcher Chatterbait - Fire Craw with matching Spunk Shad trailer 5in Wacky Senko - when nothing else is working Any small BFS lure will work this time of year as well. Sometimes sizing down works on a busy body of water. If water is murky go with something bright

Shimano Vanquish 23 C2500sxg
I have the C2500S and it is the best spinning reel I ever used. It is the same size as the 2000S but with a larger spool. I use mine on the NRX+ 821S NRR. Just a totally fun set up.

NRX+ 842 Help
I have the NRX+ 842S SJR and I just picked up the 872S (fished it twice so far). I can tell you the 872S is a stouter rod, while the 842S is soft. Also, the 842S lure rating is about right and 872S is not close. The 872 is more like an 1/8oz - 3/8oz jig plus trailer. For the baits you are looking at... I think a 5in Senko will top out or might even be too heavy for the 842. A 4in senko would be fine. Also for an 1/8oz Mepps, the 842 would work as well. For me, my dedicated 5in Senko rod is the 803S NRX (previous version). I tend to fish senkos in close quarters and I like skipping them under docs. The shorter length and extra power does it for me with the 803 but the 872 would be my second choice.

Braided line connection to fluoro leader
I have tried the small barrel swivels made for this and it was not a good experience. I would rather use a good knot.
-
Curado BFS
I would leave it as is.

Best Budget Spinner Bait
I've tried the $1 ones from Walmart and they are worth exactly $1 so you get what you pay for. Good ones for the money.... any of the ones from Booyah and when you can get them on sale, usually $5, the BPS XPS's. Good hook and decent components.

St croix legend glass (spinning)
I have the casting version of this rod and it's been great so far. I would only use it for crankbaits and like RW mentioned, some topwater.

Which trolling motor battery?
This going to sound like a tall tail but I had a lead acid battery in a (and don't laugh) Jaguar S-Type for 10 years. As long as I owned it, I never bought a new one. I have no idea who made them in England but it was still going strong when I got rid of it. It was in the trunk of the car which is what I would guess made it last so long.

Have you ever considered that the ineffectiveness of hyperrealism in baits is due to bass’ inability to see beyond a certain level of detail?
Actually yes. Below is the Storm Largo Shad. The first bait will get bit. The one below, for me, does not. I like to think it's a confidence thing but all the realistic looking baits for me are a struggle.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Thanks. This was the find of the day though. I ripped it out of package as soon as I got to my truck. Lucky Craft LV500 in Ghost French Pearl OB. Never seen this color before.

Barbless Trebles
If you can find them, the Owner STBL36BC.

Mega bass 110 best alternatives?
I have never bought one or seen one in person but oddly, I got one as a free gift with my Daiwa Certate. I have to admit, it's a well made bait. We will see how it performs. Also, it gets bonus points for having excellent hardware, including the oval split ring. Editing my above statement..... this is the Revoltage. Still a cool bait that I have never seen.

I feel ya. I got bit too. It feels solid and smooth, sort of like the Shimano Bantam of spinning reels. I took it for a test run and caught one dink. Looking forward to catching something more substantial.

Is a 6’10 medium rod with a size 2000 reel good for drop shot ?
That's what I use unless I go heavy with a 3/8oz weight.

Which trolling motor battery?
The company I work for use to use batteries that were sold under a different name (Johnson Controls) but were essentially the same Everstarts Walmart sells. They were sold with every piece of equipment that went out. We used them because they were cheap. We had more issues with those batteries than anything else. They are manufactured by multiple factories now and you never know were they come from. We got fed up and after about 10 years, we switched to Deka. Not the greatest but they are leaps and bounds ahead in quality. On a side note, we still supply the explosive battery warning with our machines because of the Everstarts. Also, the Everstarts in my buddy's boat only ever lasted one season. He was dead set on them. He bought two new ones every year for about four years until we started using the Interstate Batteries from Costco. They are cheaper and have lasted 3 seasons now. I would definitely agree, maintaining the batteries is a must and having a good charger as well. Glad they work for you.
-
Which trolling motor battery?
If it's 24V, you will need 2 12v deep cycle marine batteries run in series. They need to be exactly the same. The Everstart batteries have a one warranty because usually that is all they last. To maximize their life, if you are not using your boat, you will need to charge them every three months to maintain them. For the motor, you will need a cranking battery labeled for starting or dual purpose. Check your engines hp and match it appropriately.

Mega bass 110 best alternatives?
Forgot about Kittery Trading Post. I have ordered from them a few times. They do have good deals. I remember getting the BOGO deal on two 110 Jr's, GLXS Spawn Cherry and Northern Reaction. Nobody else had them at that time. Felt pretty lucky.
