Waterproof Rainwear For Fishing
I used to really like the froggs until I started having issues with the zipper. Its made of plastic. So it doesnt seal properly anymore. Don't know if they just started using the cheaper parts, but my 4/5 year old jacket has metal. Wont go with them again. Buy Gortex once, cry once.

Keitech Swing Impact FAT ?
Excellent on swimbaits, but Ive found that the 3.8 does really well on chatter baits too.

Kayak fishing for bass.
Been fishing out of canoes or Yaks or many years. Ive owned a bass boat before, and probably will again as my sons get older, but I think Ill always love the simplicity, ease of use, and solace of a kayak. Im in Norcal and the fishing in my local lakes isn't so hot this time of year. And on snowy cold days I find myself sitting on my kayak in my garage.....counting the days to summer.

What Does Your Tackle Box Weigh?
Ive got a system of stages... On my Kayak Ive got my blackPak box which isn't too heavy. Then in the truck that hauls the yak Ive got more of a mothership box, most likely 20-30 pound box with everything else. Back at the house Ive got everything set up like a d**n tackle shop.. With me finding tackle warehouse a while back, I have been stocking up to the point that I could basically stop buying tackle now, and not need anything else for the rest of my life!

We All Have That One "friend".....
I fish out of a kayak, but my issue is, I have multiple kayaks! So I get people wanting to take one of my back up boats out with me. I don't mind though. Ive gotten a few people into the lifestyle. And I have people to show my fish off too. Not a big deal.

Lucky craft pointer in shad colors.

Am I The Only One That..
Sadly I finally put the kayak and all the tackle away today. Now I just make sure all the gear is ready for spring spawn. Winter time is for snow shoeing and shooting guns.

Best Braid For Baitcasters
I kind of cheap out, but I ended up with a case of the Spiderwire 30b moss green years ago, and its what Ive been using ever since. Works really well for what I do..

What Kind Of Fish Finders Are You Guys Running?
Another hummingbird helix 5 di/gps here.... Really like it a lot. Its been in my boat for almost a year, haven't had any issues yet. Works perfectly

Boat Or Kayak
I could fish out of a really nice bass boat if I so desired. But for me, I prefer a kayak....

Why Do We Fish?
I was diagnosed with PTSD. Refusing to take medication, I started using meditation and proper sleeping and eating habits. Being a fisherman for many many years, it was a natural for me. I prefer to fish alone in my kayak. The silence is the best thing for me. Its a drug. It makes things right in my thought process. Not mentioning I have a amazing wife who sees the outcome of fishing trips in my demeanor, so she supports my addiction. If Im catching them or not, the time I spend throwing baits, and paddling are the best medicine.

Fall Baits
Jigs, crank baits, jerk baits and drop shot. I just fish everything a little slower, and tend to use my finder to locate them, then just work the pockets.
-
Spybaiting
Ive been using a few different colored duo's on 6lb test with a spinning rod. I keep hearing how amazing they work, but Ive yet to see them do anything for my game outside of boring the living hell out of me with that slow retrieve...

Trailer Hooks On Spinnerbaits
Like most of you on here, I have caught a ton of fish on spinner baits. But everyone, Every single one, that was over 4-5 pounds was caught on the trailer hook. If I could get away with it snag wise, I would put a trailer on my trailer hook!

Kayak Fishing Rod Selection
I think the ONLY difference with the rod selection for me is I like micro guide rods over the standards. That way I can store more of them in my ATAK! Im not a fishing trip guy, I don't plan weekends and all that. I fish 2-3 days a week and I have a truck with my yak and gear already loaded in, so I just go when I feel like going. Having 6 set ups stowed inside my kayak makes my life easy and fast. I know whenever I get to the lake Ive got everything tied on that I use normally. Drop the finder in the yak, put on my vest, and Im in the water.

Calling St. Croix Avid X Users
I agree, the medium works perfectly for cranks and spinner baits for me as well. Great rods.
-
Quantum Reels
For me, I really like the KVD tour and the energy. I've got a smoke as well, but I found the other two to work better for what I do.And for the record, I've got Diawa, Lews, Quantum and Shimano sitting in my living room drying out from a kayak fishing run today and all of them caught fish.

Jumping Into The Kayak World
Agreed. I run an ATAK and I have a friend who is in the 300# range...He loved using my boat, but eventually went with the commander.. the com140 is a perfect boat because it fits a few different roles and the lack of scuppers is a good thing as well.

What's Your Most Versatile Casting Rod?
I use St. Croix, G loomis, and a few others for drop shot, finesse, or certain swimbaits, but for the money, I really like the Ducket's micro magic. They tend to do a lot of things and are tough. I kayak fish, and I am rough on my rods and reels and they have held up nicely.

Catch And Release - Time Out Of Water?
Catch, let the go pro snap the pic, weigh em, and back in the water. 30-45 seconds max....If they are big or the camera isn't ready then fish grips are used while they stay in the water.

Boat Vs. Kayak
Tupperware navy, tried and true. I stick to my yaks.
