  1. fluro is a little hard to get used to i find you need to really feather your spool properly to get it to cast right. it will take practice but it is worth it. the only advice i have it back your spool with mono so you aren't using straight flouro
  2. better idea wrap a little bit of solder around the hooks on the belly right before they go into the frog
  3. i've never trimmed a siebert skirt or weed guard and i have never had an issue
  4. daiwa td minnow if you can find them
  5. ya i've had 2 and the legs got ripped off first blowup even though i added extra glue
  6. chatterbaits and swimjigs are the best around grass for me. i find it hard to beat slow rolling a chatterbait over the top of the grass and occasionally popping it a bit by twitching your rod tip.
  7. i might have to just make sure i swap those hooks out
  8. they are actually a lot of fun to fish just wish i didn't lose my slender pointer on friday night
  9. well ship it up to me then i'll destroy it for you
  10. these 2 beauties just showed up at the office i may replace the hooks with something a little smaller but they definitely look awesome they are 5" flat sided cranks
  11. i've only just started seeing them locally i'm not really a fan of their plastics so i'm a little hesitant to try their hard baits though the 2 really have nothing to do with each other
  12. i didn't bring anything else i made my self fish it
  13. i already dont want to i'm going to leave one tied on most of the time i think
  14. no pics but i caught a 3 lb pike last night on a Lucky Craft slender pointer
  15. with the weather here in the north east lately things have finally opened up so i went out to throw a jerkbait and build some confidence in it. so i'm throwing a Lucky Craft slender pointer mr 112 to a spot that is roughly 5'-6' deep from the bank. slowly twitching waiting about 10-15 seconds between twitches and i sped it up a little and immediately got hit i know it was a pike by the way it hit but i'm still stoked to get my first jerkbait fish, he got all 3 hooks and was about 3 lbs. the rest of the time was spent throwing the same bait to similar areas, no luck but still a good night
  16. i own daiwa, abu, shimano and bps personally i love my tatulas but the citica is so d**n comfortable it's hard to beat as a cranking reel. but for flipping and pitching nothing is better to me than a tatula
  17. it looks like an abu revo premier too
  18. only problem i find with the tatula is it isn't the most comfortable reel to palm so it might not be the best for frogging
  19. frog for topwater, flipping a jig into heavy cover or wood and swiming a chatterbait
  20. i've never tried them i would like to if i can find any locally instead of spending 25 on a megabass
  21. i use the 3.8" for my jig and chatterbait trailers and i probably wont stop using them i normally add scent anyway so i'm not worried about that. plus i like the durability of them of course you sacrifice the movement at slow speeds for that but i think it's worth it. there is also the plus that they were on sale during the classic i picked up 4 packs for 18 where 4 packs of keitechs would have run me 45 or 50
  22. honestly i just use the BPS tubes i've never had a problem with them
