High End vs. Budget Lures
there are certain types of lures where i feel it is worth it. jerkbaits and swimbaits are where you are likely going to be spending more money a good jerkbait suspends where as a budget one actually requires a fair amount of tuning to suspend properly. swimbaits are expensive for a reason they're large baits they take a long time to produce and some are hand made, the swimbait market is more of a you get what you pay for thing

Gambler Lures
the ugly otter has caught me a few as a jig trailer

Good frogs
your choice really there are a lot of good frogs from a lot of companies livetarget spro booyah river 2 sea jackall snag proof savage gear the only frog i wouldn't recommend would be the *** frog i have had 2 and both of them had legs ripped off even though they had extra glue added.

How to determine if you had a strike and missed it
fished my savage gear trout in a local lake on monday and apparently the pike are hitting it but i'm not feeling them everywhere from the tail, up to right behind the hook

Bass feeding on fry
i would add a jerkbait or a small a-rig if you have one as well as swimbiats and swimjigs.

star brite and a pressure washer

Bass feeding on fry
larger swimbaits, a swim jig, or a paddle tail on a drop shot basically anything that imitates the forge that would eat the fry should work well if they are guarding fry

Fishing state of mind
this is the same for me i don't fish competitively but whenever i start to get anxious about a trip i just focus on rigging up some rods with some baits i want to fish the next day and it calms me down

SwimJig
white or shad pretty simple really

Went wading today
i do it all the time when bank fishing there is one particular piece of structure the fish like to hold on that is very easy to get hung up in, but if you're not throwing to places where you may lose a lure you're not fishing in the right spots

well maybe it's time i visit texas- Iconic/Timeless Lures
- Brackish water bass reels?
is there any disadvantage to having a salt reel? i'm sure it will work fine for freshwater- Topwater fishing setup
i prefer a 6'6" mh casting rod with a 7."something" gear ratio and 65 lb braid this allows me to fish topwater, frogs and jerkbaits all on the same rod- Rod lure weight confusion
don't forget that your hooks & soft plastic have a weight too just because it's a 1/4oz bullet doesn't mean that is what the whole rig weighs- Chatterbait colors
- chatterbait techniques
there are a few ways to fish a chatterbait slow and steady is always good i like to add some twitches in for some erratic action. stop and go also has it's place though it works better in clear water since fish can see a little better. i have had plenty of fish hit it on the initial drop especially with a subtle trailer like the strike king blade minnow. - 2017 Bassmaster Classic will be held in Houston, TX
