  1. i've already been told i have far too much
  2. the only ones i have had to change out got the vmc short shank round bend and i haven't had any issues with those which i like
  3. who gets all his gear?
  4. maybe i could be talking about a different hook but i know they were Mustad's KVD Elite Trebles maybe they weren't exactly the same i'll have to check
  5. jigs, big swimbaits, big frogs, but mainly it is about finding where they live if you don't put it in front of the big ones you won't catch them
  6. i've had nothing but problems with these hooks i put them on a couple jerkbaits and first fish on both baits they bent out when fighting a fish which was only 2.5-3 pounds
  7. my local walmart wouldn't know what good fishing gear is.
  8. i still fish for pike if the season hasn't started just release it as quick as possible as the rules state
  9. i'm assuming you've flipped craws into the pocket in the bottom left as well
  10. which ones were right?
  11. i have an ibobber i will be using it next weekend to map out the lake i will try to take some screeshots and upload them so you can see what it's like
  12. Even though i'm fishing for pike they still hit it
  13. 1) if heavy is not a huge concern then i wouldn't think braid is "needed". but with that being said it cuts through vegetation nicely and very rarely breaks off. fluro is probably a better choice if you are only fishing plastics because of sensitivity. if you are throwing topwater as well as plastics on your PQ then i would have braid. 2) yes fluro would provide an advantage for cranks and lighter plastics, the main advantage is it sinks, this means that your cranks can dive deeper and the action of your plastics is not hindered by a bouyant line. the second advantage is sensitivity which is critical for lighter plastics when you are just trying to feel for a bite. the third advantage would be that it doesn't have as much stretch as mono. with the spinning rod being a moderate you don't need the stretch of mono and you would likely benefit from the reduced stretch of fluro.
  14. why don't walmart's up here ever have anything good i should go across the boarder
  15. she was actually off shore a fair bit but ya i'm going to stop until the season opens just in case
  16. just going to take a stab at this feel free to tell me if i'm totally wrong because i could be but my thoughts are 1) throw a bladed jig or a reaction bait along the yellow lines, anywhere the creek channel is close to the grass or you see an ambush point 2) throw a frog and flip the circled areas. big fish get big by eating a lot and not moving so anywhere they can hide and eat a lot would be the most likely spot for the big ones to hide 3) big baits catch big fish i know the timber would definitely deter me from throwing them but a big wakebait could be a good idea
  17. At least I can chase gators at a local place for now. I went last night and actually ended up catching a largemouth on a spoon apparently she didn't get that it's a pike lure
  18. i would rig the following 1. 6-6 MHF ethos casting-1/2 oz chatterbait with paddle tail trailer. 2. 6-6 MHF gander mtn elite casting- trig big worm, trig craw or jig with craw 3. 6-8 MXF St.Croix Rage casting- weightless senko. 4. 6-6 MHF Shimano Clarus casting- start with a buzzbait or spook depending on water conditions (i would also fish a jerkbait on this) edit: i forgot to add why i suggested those. first thing you should be covering water looking for active fish either with topwater, jerkbait or chatterbait. then slowing down if they aren't very active which is where the jig and weightless senko come in
  19. what line do you have on each rod?
  20. it's mainly colour the rayburn red made for xcalibur was more red than the one made for booyah which is almost orange that is generally why they are worth more that as well as they are the original if you want i will take them off your hands
  21. pretty likely i'll pick a couple up
