Shimano crucial swimbait rod
you can but i would recommend a rod with a bit more weight range realistically a range of 2-5oz is a little low if you are throwing 8" hudds i don't think it's good to always be taxing the rod with a 5oz bait if the most it can take is 5oz. something with a weight range of 2-8oz would be better

Best Chatterbait? And what is the best value Chatterbait?
i personally use the siebert fogy for my 3/8oz and 1/2oz and z-man project z if i want to throw a 3/4oz if i am fishing it over wood then i switch to a strike king rage blade. i am also going to place a nice order with mike soon i like them a fair amount they are my main bladed jig they seem to vibrate really well at slow speeds which is what i love about them. working them over grass or around it that slow really works well for me.

looking for opinions on my setups
okay so as my season ends i am looking towards next year and what i think i can improve upon. i started the year with 7 setups and i'm now down to 5 since 2 rods broke on me. what i am looking for is a couple opinions on the setups i have and if you guys think there is anything i should be changing or maybe throwing on a different rod. Finesse: 6'6" M/F Ugly Stick Lite 5.2.1 Pflueger Purist 10 LB Spider Wire Braid Cranking: 7'0" MH/M Daiwa Balistic 5.6.1 Lew's Tournament MB Speed Spool 12 LB Sniper Flurocarbon Chatterbaits: 7'3" M/M Abu Garcia Ike 6.3.1 Shimano Citica i 15 LB Abraz-x Flurocarbon Jigs/Flipping 7'6" Abu Garcia Vendetta 7.3.1 Daiwa Tatula 100 / 8.1.1 Daiwa Tatula Type-R 15 LB Abraz-x Flurocarbon / 50 LB J Braid Big Baits: 7'6" H/MF Bass Pro Bionic Blade 7.3.1 Daiwa Tatula 100 25 LB C21 Co-Poly now i was looking to get a couple more rods specifically a 7'0" MH/F for flipping and the 6'7" Lew's Custom Speed Stick for jerkbaits and treble hook topwater. i am unsure if these are the best uses for the rods i have, what do you guys think?

crankbait (to rattle or not to rattle), and other optimizations.
I use both as well for me it depends on water clarity and conditions. now colour selection is a whole other topic. Rattles: if the water is more muddy then i tend to use something with rattles, this is because i find it gets hit more which is likely because it's easier for the bass to locate. Rattles also seem to do very well when the fish are being aggressive but this is likely because they are just feeding. Silent: I tend to use silent in clearer water because i feel it is more of a visual cue for bass and they are used to sight feeding anyway. i have caught fish on a silent crank in muddy or off colour water but not as well as they do on the rattling version

these are actually one of my favourite swimbaits. i have had success on them with bass and pike. what i really love is that it will stand on bottom because of the design LC hit that one right
