How many rods is too many?
according to my parents more than 1 realistically though i think more than 6 or 8 is a little much from a boat and from the bank i would say no more than 3

well you've had success on a frog already i say keep throwing them, i would also look at throwing swimbaits, but it depends on what the main forage is

i've had my fair share of teeth try to take jerlkbaits but they have never succeeded in breaking my line, now it may just be that i'm lucky. what knot were you using to tie the leader? also what kind of braid was it?

Small Swimbait setup
this probably seems weird but for my swimbaits i actually throw them with a tatula 100hs i prefer the 7.3:1 because i can always speed up if i need to bring the fish in i just reel extremely slow for the rod i would say pickup a guide select i have a bass pro bionic blade 7'6" h/mf that works for me but i think the guide select is a good rod and i would have that if i could have found one locally

this is why i love my home waters so much i am blessed with only having largemouth and smallmouth, if i travel to any lake that i fear may have some teeth in it i will use a wire leader
