Unless you are going to fish salt water I would go with the citica . If you look around you can get one new for around $100 like smallie.mike said.

Yes you can definitely use it . I just prefer a little higher ratio . I can always just slow my retrieve down a little if I need to

Generally you want a slower gear ratio for crank baits. I like a mid ratio like 6.2:1 for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits .

I have the same Rod . A couple of months ago my daughter shut it in my truck door . I sent it do dobyns they replaced it for $80

Same here , I also had one and sold it. I didn't like the balance at all. I replaced it with a Dobyns savvy 703 and love it.

How is the balance on the new mojo? I had one of the old ones and it felt tip heavy to me. I didn't like the balance.

I also have a couple of "A's" and I love mine. My other reels are citicas, curado's, and chronarchs

I am looking to buy a square bill rod for mostly 1.5 crankbaits and some 2.5 crankbaits . What lenght , action etc. would you guys suggest? Thanks

I have both the E's and the I's but in my opinion the I is a much better reel with the x ship. And its is a smoother reel . I would go with the the new I.

What ever rod you would throw a spinnerbait on thats what I throw my chatterbaits on.

Dobyns savvy 703 , 6.3:1 curado I, 12lb sufix. I think it is a good all around spinnerbait/chatterbait rod.

I am also a shimano guy. I love my curados They just fell better in my hand. I don't think there is a wrong choice. It just depends on the person.
