Favorite Underspins and Trailers
I haven't fished any underspins before but I'd like to. The one that looks the best to me is the Blade Runner Spintrix or the Owner Flashy Swimmer hooks with underspin.

This is the same crap they pulled on their 25 Days of Christmas sale...90% of the sale stuff seemed like the unpopular junk they were trying to get rid of...major disappointment! Seems TW is going the way of Bass Pro (remember when you could get awesome deals on brand name stuff at their Fishing Classic sale in February...now it's mostly their own house brand stuff on sale), shame!!!

Silent Crankbaits: 6th Sense Crush 50S vs. Academy Sports H2O NR Silent
So I'm looking for some decent silent crankbaits...something different to throw out there when everyone else is throwing cranks with rattles. I like the looks of both of the above baits. The 6th Sense sells for $7.99 while the H2O sells for $2.99...is there that much of a difference in quality to justify paying $5 more per bait to get the 6th Sense or are the H2O's almost as good for a 1/3 of the price?

H2O Xpress lures
Generally speaking they have the best "house" baits of all (including Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas etc.).

They still have them on sale for $49...not quite as good as $39 but still saving $30.

The problem is their "sale" price is Wal-Mart's every day price :).

River2Sea S-Waver
That's what mine does too, that's what they are supposed to do. You aren't supposed to burn them, just a slow and steady retrieve with a few twitches mixed in to snap the bait around to face any potential pursuers (I've heard this is when a lot of strikes occur as Bass like to eat the heads of fish).

River2Sea S-Waver
I only got to throw mine a few times near the end of the season last year but I didn't have any trouble. Mt setup is a iRod Fiber, 7'5" Fred's Magic Stick, H/F and my reel is Daiwa Tatula CT Type-R 8.1:1 with 50lb. Sunline FX2 braid. The 168 looks AWESOME in the water...you swear it's a real fish!!!

Striper fishing
What size, weight of lure would you use? How about the line, mono, fluoro, copoly or braid? What pound test?

Booyah Toad Runner Frog
Looks like a Teckel Sprinker knock off to me. Anyone have one yet? Is it better/worse than a Sprinker?

I know it's not much but my Wal-Mart has Berkley Big Game mono on clearance for $3 per spool (it's regularly $6.86).

Striper fishing
Okay, so we are going to vacation in Maine at a campground that has some ocean front sites and they say they catch stripers from shore...what kind of gear for ocean fishing? I don't want to bring my bass gear and get saltwater on it. I saw a relatively cheap saltwater rod at DSG for like $39, Abu Garcia Bruiser 8ft. rod/spinning reel combo. It's a 2 piece which I'm not fond of but with it being an 8ft. rod that will make it much more travel friendly. Would a 190 size whopper plopper be the ticket here? I have no idea what else they would catch but if you have ideas that would be helpful too. Any info on bait/lures would be greatly appreciated!!! We're not going until mid-August but never hurts to be prepared.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Keep your eye out for your local Wal-Mart clearance!!! Mine has inventory coming up in a week and they are clearancing tons of stuff. Just picked up 2 Berkley Lightning Rod Shock casting rods (1-7ft. MH and 1-6'6" M) for $9 each, they had all of their fishing baseball caps for $1 each so we got a ton of those. Got some Yum fish attractant in Shad and Crawfish scent for $1 each, a spool of Power Pro Super Slick 8 braid (65lb.) for $5. A bank umbrella/sun shade type thing for $13 and a 13x13 Ozark Trail instant up canopy for $15 (regular price of $88).

Time to check your local Wal-Mart's...year end inventory is coming up for them in a week and lots of stuff is being clearanced out, in fact some stuff hasn't even made it onto the sales floor and has been buried out back only to be seen now at inventory time. I just got two Berkley Lightning Rod Shock casting rods, 1-7ft. MH and 1-6'6" M for $9 each. They also had all of their fishing baseball caps on clearance for $1 each so we bought like almost 20 hats (I like collecting them...lol.). I also bought some of the Yum spray on attractants in shad and crawfish scent for $1 each. Last night I picked up an instant up 13x13 canopy by Ozark Trail for $15 and it's normally $88. Go check em' out while there's still good stuff to be had...especially this week as I was told at my Wal-Mart last night their inventory will start in about a week!

Spiderwire Stealth Glo-vis Braid vs. Power Pro Super Slick Braid
Like the title says, which would you choose between the Spiderwire Glo-vis or the Power Pro Super Slick? Both are 65lb. I picked both of these up at my local Walmart for$5 or less. Please don't say "neither" or suggest another line, I'm trying to find out which of these two lines would be better for fishing in the slop?

G Loomis EX6 rods for sale at DSG and Field & Stream for $99. Seems like select sizes/powers/actions but hey...a $190 rod for $100 is a good deal!

XPS Products
The XPS baits are 50/50 at best...some of their stuff works good and some is complete crap. Their soft plastics are pretty good. Other than that I've heard too many people say they are junk so I mostly stay away from them. I do have some of the Cabelas house brand baits and they seem to be of a higher quality than the BPS baits.

Question About Spro Frogs Vs Live Target Frog
Terminator frogs are on sale at Bass Pro for like $7. I've heard they are good too!
